Humor: the real reason iOS Maps are bad

We knew it wouldn't take long before the razzing started, and it really hasn't. We've already seen Apple taking shots about its new Maps app in iOS 6 from a couple fronts. First, there was a new Tumblr blog that catalogues the failures of the app, and now the good duo from The Joy of Tech has given its take on why Apple's new Maps app is bad...
This is a discussion for a news. To read the whole news, click here

I haven't tried the maps but something tells me the maps will be as bad as the illustration there...senseless!!

That was due to a glitch in turn by turn navigation alpha testing of Apple Maps some say :D

Very interesting theft news... I wonder if the drivers found their way back using Apple Maps...

HAHAHA another Apple epic fail! Such geniouses to come out with a phone that has the specs of a phone in 2009! If other companies had the type of marketing and brainwashing gurus that Apple has then they would be so much bigger.

Wow, that's like saying "Yeah, I have a car that breaks down every week and I paid 2x market value, but I still love it." Please do continuing enjoying a mediocre product that costs double what it should. Kudos.

horrible analogy considering Androids "break down" more often than iPhones.
This is the way I look at it: I prefer paying 2x for a steak dinner with "water" at an overpriced restaurant. Thank eating off the dollar menu at macdonalds so I can wash it down with "coke".

phones ''breaking down'' are subject to use, treatment etc only in certain circumstances with bad problems do phones constantly crash.
you gotta stop this whole ''if someone says something negative about apple i must run down android '' its stupid.
especially when this is fact that apple maps is full of problems , its crap mapping.. and has to compete with google and nokia maps both excellent.

This was my point. Which is sad considering that apple HAD google maps. If I were an Apple customer I would be pissed. Nor would I buy their "latest and greatest". They stripped this out over greed, and nothing more.
PS, that statement isn't a knock on greed, as greed is perfectly acceptable, but don't get mad when your customers get pissed that they can't do what they could do previously.

Do you ever bother reading any of the articles about apple? They have more random reboots than android. I haven't had my phone off more than once every couple of weeks in over a month. (PS, those times were when I was swapping out my battery for another one on the go)
Using your steak dinner analogy, it's like you and I both going to APPLEBEES and ordering a steak, but you just paid twice as much for your and they burned it. Good job. But you "tough it out" because you know you got a better steak because you paid twice as much. Clearly. No matter what, we're both EATING AN APPLEBEES steak, so it's only going to be so good. But please, be my guest and help apple keep that over-inflated stock price. You're wasting your money, not mine.

For starters I do read a lot of articles, its all I do actually, its a Job requirement since I work in the service and repair department at Sprint and handle dozens of problems daily. And I have to point out, that your "random reboots" comment, must have been from an unreliable source. It doesnt happen unless Jailbroken and even then not as much as Android.
Secondly I should point out that since I work in this industry and I am an enthusiast. I do own every Nexus model ever made and every iPhone ever made. I try to be as unbiased as possible because I actually see positive features in both OSs. My comment was aimed at neutralizing the trash talking about Maps, which should not be the sole purpose of buying a phone, just like 4x4 when buying a vehicle.
Finally regarding the restaurant analogy. I meant to focus more on the overall experience when comparing fancy VS bargain. You can complain that fragile wine glasses and plates made of porcelain are not durable and shatter easy, but they are the materials of choice in Fancy restaurants. My point was I will choose that even if I have to wash it down with water. As a repairman the only phones I would consider "Applebees" level are Motorola and HTC. Those impress me. And Im by no means rich, but when I said fancy I meant like Carrabbas.

I figured out the real reason why Apple Maps is like this, guys!
See, several months ago when the news was first breaking about Google's own voice assistant, it was accused by members here of copying Siri, even when sources reporting on the assistant said that it had been under development for three years. When those members kept insisting that Google was being a copycat, the only logical conclusion was that Google had developed a time machine in order to travel back three years and start the copying process.
Now, since Google has a time machine (since it's not possible those members could be wrong about Google simply starting to develop its own AI independent of Apple) it stands to reason that Apple, being the innovative inventors of everything that they are, must have a time machine too. However, they instead used theirs to travel INTO THE FUTURE, in order to see if the 2012 Mayan apocalypse rumors were true...AND THEY WERE TRUE! Therefore, Apple has developed Apple Maps to reflect the reality survivors will live in after December 21st, thus proving yet again that Apple is the most forward thinking and innovative company in the world!
...Or, you know, Apple might have just released an unfinished "killer app" for the second year in a row that they won't even attempt to fix until iOS 7.

There's no problem with the maps. The cities and roads are in the wrong places.

It wont happen, because they have android with google maps in their pocket as their main phone.

Apple is just forcing itself to use ios maps on their idevices, of course it will be better if they stick with google maps since it offers very good functionality and brings more accurate results
