Humor: Google Glass versus Apple iWatch
These two products are not even available yet and of the two, one has not really been acknowledged to exist.

That does not stop the masters from The Joy of Tech explaining what could very well become reality through humor though. It is the typical tit-for-tat exchange, “Who wears a watch?” versus making a wearer “look like a complete dork.”  For what it's worth, several of us here at PhoneArena.com do wear watches.

These are certainly valid observations and no doubt the companies will play their perspective strengths of each product…until they make their own version of the competition. We have certainly seen enough of that in this industry.

Lol. Stupid watch.

I think that Google Glass will be much more interesting and unusual gadget than various smart watches or especially iWatch.

9. EspHack posted on 09 Mar 2013, 16:32 7

i absolutely hate the way google is doing the smart-glasses thing but i have to approve with you, a watch is just another handheld device with a colorful touchscreen, glass is the door to another world

Agree, it is something conditionally really new and different compared to the other gadgets and it will bring totally new experience. I'm pretty sure that people who are even not planning to buy Google Glasses would still want to try them just because to feel something totally new, I even don't talk about tech geeks who are already salivating. :)

"I think that Google Glass will be much more interesting and unusual gadget than various smart watches or especially iWatch".
Typical fanboy statement. Neither have even been released yet.

And that's why I didn't said that:

I said that:
"I think that Google Glass WILL BE much more interesting and..."

So for the next time I suggest you to pay more attention what you are reading rather than giving stupid notes! ;)

Yes but if the I watch was made by google then everybody would like it....
Be careful dude, you don't want to be a apple sheep but you don't want to be a google sheep either...
The truth is that both these gadgets are useless...
smartphones are fare more practical and functional than the I watch or google glasses.

33. PhoneArenaUser posted on 10 Mar 2013, 11:01

"The truth is that both these gadgets are useless..."

Google Glasses, as far as I know should be a very handy device in various situations because you won't need any additional moves with your hands or head in order to interact with it and that's mean that Google Glasses may be very useful in many situations. While iWatch is basically the same smartphone just attached on your wrist, then what is purpose of having iWatch if you already have a smartphone?

Once again apples watch hasn't been released yet... Einstein.

LOL @ anyone who truly believes it will be anything other than a wrist mounted ipod. That's all apple does: resize the ipod.

2. N-fanboy posted on 09 Mar 2013, 14:51 3 8

I Don't want/need either of these 'not so hitech' devices, i wouldn't wear a digital watch for the world or wear a glass that looks like $#¡+, but i'm only just one person, i'm sure there are a couple of showoffs out there somewhere...

6. mafiaprinc3 posted on 09 Mar 2013, 15:32

its a good gadget to have for instance ur doing a sky dive and you want to save that for later enjoyment.
but as you said it's not for all,but there a real good uses for it in science and tech at large

Ever heard of the GoPro?

40. pellegrini posted on 11 Mar 2013, 06:06

Sure, but what is better (natural), to wear a glasses or attach that little rectangular (without a viewfinder) camera to your head?

3. mydi.maus posted on 09 Mar 2013, 14:53 1 2

dork hahahaha!

4. Nathan_ingx posted on 09 Mar 2013, 14:56 3

Humor: Darn! I thought the 'Glass' would magnify iMaps on the iWatch.
Now i'm more 'lost' than lost!

7. Taters posted on 09 Mar 2013, 16:11 2

Google glasses would be a great gaming head set, provided games take advantage of it. Like for American Football plays selection or a Dragon Ball Z game where you can see their power levels or just about any shooter or sci fi game.

Smart watches are all right, although I believe watches are mainly for looks like clothing is.

8. BackHandLegend posted on 09 Mar 2013, 16:13 1

All I'm saying is that Google glass could very well have night vision, and projector abilities that google could make as attachments if the nanotechnology isn't so advanced. I really don't know how you would provide upgrades to the iWatch, then again, Glass would be open sourced and be taken advantage of like the Kinect, the iWatch would just be closed source with limited uses. Apple, things have to change, and fast.

10. roscuthiii posted on 09 Mar 2013, 16:44

Why does it have to be one or the other? I'd rather see these two kinds of tech used in conjunction... but I guess neither side is going to play nice, nor concede to the benefits of the other.

12. pookiewood posted on 09 Mar 2013, 17:00

I don't care for Google or Apple but I'd take the iWatch over Google Glasses. I don't wear glasses and I can't even stand wearing glasses at the theaters for 3D movies.

13. Timmehor posted on 09 Mar 2013, 17:18 1 5

The Google glass may be an amazing work of innovation and ingenuity but its seriously not practical, an "iWatch" seems it would fit in the mainstream market a lot more nicely and be worn/used by more people.

15. PhoneArenaUser posted on 09 Mar 2013, 17:42 3 3

I don't think that iWatch will have much more practical functionality than any smartphone already has. So why would you need two smartphones, one in your pocket and another on your wrist just dumber, how is that practical? While Google Glasses will bring us more flexible and totally different way for interaction with a smart device.

Patience Einstein...let them release the products first.

"Patience Einstein...let them release the products first."

So what that they are not released yet, does that mean that I can't have any opinion and my own forecast about upcoming products?

18. darkkjedii posted on 09 Mar 2013, 17:55 5

Also who cares what you think. "I don't think iWatch this, and that. Millions do, and will think otherwise... You actually don't really matter to apples bottom line, so stop hopping on every apple article to hate, bash, and talk about what you don't think.

21. PhoneArenaUser posted on 09 Mar 2013, 18:21 2

LOL! Are you trying to take away my rights to free opinion and expression? :D

22. Timmehor posted on 09 Mar 2013, 18:27 1 3

Okay, but i think the iWatch is more consumer friendly. Smartwatches are far more flexible for the consumer plus a smart watch with full voice commands and maybe a media player would be cool. Yes the Glass opens us up to a whole new level of tech but it is a dramatic change, affecting the 5 senses, touch, hearing, smell, feel and perception (glass affects perception) can lead to health issues etc and the Glass has too many privacy issues.

23. PhoneArenaUser posted on 09 Mar 2013, 18:44 2 1

24. Timmehor posted on 09 Mar 2013, 18:53 1 1

Very much so, i understand the Google Glass is well, amazing! but these are products, and to sell a product you need ease of use, accessibility, brand, marketing, features, design, and flexibility for the consumer. Apple (hopefully) have some new, fresh ideas with the watch concept and *may* make it a hit, same with the Glass concept. The tech market is so unpredictable that its almost impossible to make any assumptions.

Man you just don't get it do ya?

39. microsoftnokiawin posted on 10 Mar 2013, 19:46 1 1

1st of all he never said that that iwatch is something new he's just saying that google watch is ahead of it;s time and will probably be more expensive than iwatch

for example look at when bill gates released the pc tablet everyone was like wtf is this crap because it was ahead of it's time therefore it was unsuccessful on the other hand 9 year later or so the ipad was released and this time people were ready for it and it came out more affordable the a pc tablet would've been in 2002

same applies to google glass yes i do agree that the iwatch is like a smartphone on your wrist but it's as cool as it a useless concept but for the normal consumer it has an apple logo on it and is cheaper therefore the iwatch we'll have more success because the google glass is ahead of it's time and is more expensive

makes any sense ??

Ha ha ha..... Not even funny

26. dragonstkdgirl posted on 09 Mar 2013, 19:11 3

I haven't worn a watch in probably about ten years. However, I can see an advantage to Glass, especially if they manage to implement the technology into maybe designer sunglasses/regular glasses to make them more stylish and versatile? If my Coach sunglasses could also browse, make calls, text, email, etc, I would never take those things off. :o)

29. PhoneArenaUser posted on 09 Mar 2013, 19:32 3

28. neurobiologist posted on 09 Mar 2013, 19:22 3

You can see the time in front of your eyes, with glasses, so isnt it killing the watches. Apple is so outdated, as always.

32. xperiaDROID posted on 10 Mar 2013, 06:22 1

Don't even think about making an iGlass, Apple. Because Google is gonna sue you for that.

34. GeekMovement posted on 10 Mar 2013, 12:02 1

I like how the iWatch has Nike+ instead of Google+ on it. Stealing from nike eh?
