0. phoneArena 29 Jul 2014, 22:52 posted on
While Apple shipped more iPhones for the second quarter of 2014 than it shipped a year earlier, and Samsung shipped fewer smartphones than it did in the same quarter last year, neither company was the big story in the period. According to IDC's latest breakdown of smartphone vendors' global marketshare, a pair of Chinese firms made the most noise in the April through June period...

Trolls, prepare for a new trap tripping breed of fan boys.
I think some OEM are lucky that China is still willing to make their phone for them as outsiders.
Brands may go extintc faster now.

This is why Samsung needs Tizen so badly right now. They know full well that they have ridden the Android train as far to the top as they can go on it, and so now they need to catch a new train to get them any further. If they keep delaying the first Tizen release because of a lack of apps in their ecosystem, then they will never release it in time to stop their hemorrhaging of marketshare. It could be a repeat of the Nokia-Symbian over-stay effect, and that means that Samsung is possibly in some trouble.

wow congrats to huawei, indeed beautiful craftsmanship + affordable price is the reason of this. better look out, if this will continue, huawei will have funds to build even more premium beautiful devices with specs that can match samsung's, media pad x1, p6, p7, ascend mate, IMO they are great in design department, p7 really look elegantly stunning, we are still waiting for the pink version, my girlfriend can't wait anymore....

But did you know that P7 is looks like iPhone and Xperia Z1?
15. marcski07 (Posts: 371; Member since: 25 Apr 2014)
yes, and p7 is more beautiful than iPhone and Xperia z1 IMO, the design of the back looks stunning and shine when a light hits the back. have you seen it in personal? it doesn't shout "copy cat". And every company are also copying/following or inspired by each other's design. and the consumer benefit to it in the end, because we have lots of options. :D huawei started the trend of "selfie centric handset" have you ever notice who follows that? sony, htc, nokia. sony already made one, htc and nokia are rumored, so who's gonna benefit with that "copying" of the said trend? us. so let's just be happy because we have many options on what exactly do we want on our smartphones. :)

i think this should ring the bells of Samsung..... they are the only company in top to have negative growth..... Samsung seriously needs to change its strategy and start offering decent phones..... there every latest phone is hell of overpriced (although the prices comes down quite alot after launch) and they need to change design of their phones to make them attractive.....

The practice of selling $350 phones for $700 is slowing coming to an end. About time.

These companies don't have brand recognition like the international Oems. That's why.

Samsung copied iPhone then sell them at a much cheaper price. Now huawei icluding lenovo and zte is copying samsung strategy by copying iPhone and selling them at even lower price. Soon xiami will catch up and beat huwei and lenovo.
