Huawei Nova Plus now up for grabs in Canada for $400

As expected, Huawei's Nova Plus mid-range Android smartphone has landed in Canada. For the time being the smartphone is only available at Rogers, bu Fido and Virgin Mobile will carry it too beginning November 1 and November 3, respectively.

Customers who wish to purchase the Nova Plus via Rogers will be able to do so for just $400 CAD ($300 USD), which isn't a bad price at all considering the phone's hardware. Huawei's mid-range smartphone can also be had for free on 2-years contracts.

Unveiled last month at IFA 2016, the Nova Plus ships with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box. It's unclear whether or not Huawei will deliver an Android 7.0 Nougat update in the future, but the phone definitely supports the new OS hardware-wise.

Speaking of which, Huawei Nova Plus is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

Also, the smartphone sports a 5.5-inch display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and feature an impressive 16-megapixel photo snapper on the back with OIS (optical image stabilization) and 4K video recording. There's also an 8-megapixel front camera for those who like to take selfies once in a while.

The Nova Plus should easily get you throughout a full day of heavy use since it's packed with a 3,340 mAh battery, but if that doesn't happen you'll be pleased to know that the smartphone comes with USB fast charging.
