Huawei MediaPad M3 now official: 8.4" slate with stereo speakers focusing on media consumption

Today at IFA 2016, Huawei announced its latest tablet, the MediaPad M3. From the get-go, it's a stylish slate featuring a full-metal body that is definitely geared towards media consumption.

The emphasis is on the audio and video - the MediaPad M3 arrives with dual stereo speakers certified by none other than Harman Kardon, Super Wide Sound 3.0, and hi-res audio support, as well as а 8.4-inch display with a resolution of 2560 by 1600 pixels make the slate a great choice for media consumption.

Under the hood, Huawei has thrown in its in-house octa-core Kirin 950 chipset, with four cores clocked at 2.3GHz and the other four at up to 1.8GHz. There's 4GB of RAM aboard, while the native storage is either 32 or 64 gigs, depending on what model you get. There front and rear cameras are both 8MP ones. 

You can also throw in a microSD card slot inside as well. Keeping the lights on is a 5,100mAh battery. Software-wise, the MediaPad M3 relies on Android Marshmallow with Huawei's Emotion UI running atop. Oh, and there's a nano SIM card slot in two of the variants of the slate that allow you to make use of LTE connectivity.

The MediaPad M3 is launching on September 26 in Europe, the Middle East, and select markets across Asia. The 32GB Wi-Fi variant will cost EUR 349, the 64GB Wi-Fi and 32GB LTE ones are both priced at EUR 399, while the top-end 64GB LTE one will set you back EUR 449.
