Huawei Ascend P7 mini is official, introduced before the full-sized model

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei has introduced a mini version of the Huawei Ascend P7. The interesting thing is that the mini version of the device is being introduced before the full-sized model. That goes against the current convention from manufacturers. Huawei might be taking a marketing risk, since consumers usually like to compare the mini version of a phone to the full-sized model to see exactly how much the specs have been cut on the smaller model...

I thought that after the Z1 Compact everyone would jump on the train to make proper mini flagships. But I was wrong. Sony is still apparently not as influential to the rest of the industry. If Samsung makes an S5 Mini with same specs with S5, then everyone will follow. Until then, all minis (with the bright exception of the Z1) will remain marketing terms of middle rangers.
