Huawei Ascend D quad XL and two more official - "the world's fastest smartphone" and 2500mAh battery are in tow

0. phoneArena posted on 26 Feb 2012, 08:26

Much to our surprise, the D series is powered by Huawei's own ARM-based chipsets, called K3V2, and the quad-core version of it powers two monster handsets. The first one is the Huawei Ascend D quad, with four cores humming along at 1.5GHz and a 4.5" HD LCD display with 720x1280 pixels of resolution and "the industry's most powerful 32-bit true color graphic processor".

2500 mAh, quad core, 8mpx?

if this phone will be coming with competitive pricing, though the brand name is not that popular, I'll buy this.. :D

i could care less about the brand name,as long as the spec and software is good then am in but i am going to wait till the s3 is announced before i make a decision on what phone to get next...honestly if i didnt know the s3 didnt exist then this would most likely be my next phone...of the leaked and announced quad phone this seems to be the best atm.

Do u guys realize how big this brang is over seas?? It's not like there some.new joke company.they made big bucks last year.

15. taz89 posted on 26 Feb 2012, 15:18

it doesnt matter if they are big over seas, they are not a recognised brand like apple or sony or samsung in europe or us where they want to be popular.this is a great start for them to be recognised and show what they are capable of doing.as i said already i am impressed with there devices and if i wasnt waiting on the s3 then i would happily buy huawei quad core phones.

If they want to make a name for themselves in america, they have to show out bigtime. I have to say, that is exactly what it looks like they are doing.

The only thing that they should have done differently was make the camera a bigger MPX. I know it doesnt make a real difference, but for the uneducated, saying its a 10 or 12mpx sounds like its going to be better than everyone elses 8mpx, if its true or not.

other than that
fat battery.. check
big arse processor.. check
ICS.. check.
presumably good camera.. check
RAM... umm... RAM???

darn it.. nothin is ever perfect. If it was a lot of ram, they would be announcing it.

21. taz89 posted on 26 Feb 2012, 20:26

i would assume they are using 1gb as they have gone pretty much all out else where spec wise..they hyped the cam so maybe its good...am sure any one of these companies could build the perfect phone but then they cant sell you anything else..they probably design a phone and say lets keep this out and put it in the next version etc etc lol.

8. bbblader posted on 26 Feb 2012, 10:01 2

if it was wp7 it would be even faster
p.s.:no hating on android at all

11. nnaatthhaannx2 posted on 26 Feb 2012, 10:12 2

agreed, but WP would not be good with such diverse phones, they are limited, and it builds a more software to hardware specifc relationship

That's an outstanding start for Huawei's new flagship series. I'm excited to read more about the D Quad.

By MWC 2013, we might be throwing wild rumors around for the next Huawei phone, not the SGS4, if they keep delivering high level specs like this!

16. mercorp posted on 26 Feb 2012, 16:41 1

add the word alive and SEGA will sue you.huawei has already named some handphones after sonic characters,so...

This phone is gorgeous, literally one of the "sexiest" phones I've seen. (see enlarged photos above)
But wtf's up with the capacitative buttons? They couldn't do the whole on screen ics buttons thing with this phone???
But maybe it's already in 16:9 without the on screen? hmm.....
