How to update your AT&T Samsung Focus S to Windows Phone Tango

It has been discovered that the Samsung Focus S for AT&T can be updated to Windows Phone Tango even though the carrier is not pushing out the update yet...

ATT sucks at pushing out updates and didn't even push out the basic disappearing keyboard fix. I finally gave in and did the update myself through the cab installer method. Now my unlocked HTC Titan is running Tango and everything works except voice notes since this is a general update and not an OEM specific one. Just completed the 8773.98 update on my AT&T Samsung Focus S successfully!!! One step which was omitted is you have to re-connect the ethernet cable prior to actually upgrading. I know that is common sense, but I eventually figured it out. I downloaded a total of five updates, 7740, 8107, 8112, 8773, and Samsung update for Windows Phone. It took me about 45 minutes, but my computer only has a 1.8 processor and a snail DSL connection. I am looking forward to trying out all these updates and see how they improve the excellent features of my 1 cent Samsung Focus S!
