0. phoneArena posted on 04 Dec 2012, 06:48

Follow the steps inside if you want to root the 5.5" giant and remove bloatware, introduce tethering or other goodies. There are even the steps to roll back the rooting if you need to for warranty purposes and such...

I'm puzzled. Doesn't rooting automatically end warranty? It's not very likely you can unroot if something happens to the device and you have to bring it back for repair.

Yes root does kill your warranty, but most warranties are for defects not for root issues. In the U.S. carriers have insurance on their phones, so if something bad happens to your phone like a busted screen or some water damage the phone will be replaced for $50.00 usually. Get my drift......? lol

Not a bad deal, plus the pro's of root clearly outweigh the con's.

Who has a $50 replacement? ATT and Verizon are $199.

As for issues, unless you loose the screen all together you can unroot. With Samsung devices, most people jump quickly and do not wait for a version that doesn't trip the counter which can show it was root and unrooted.

Is this only valid for n verizon note II of any note II. Coz I've got a normal international version and want to root it.

There's a separate method for the international Note 2.

Hi there, thank you for this root, I found myself overseas with a Verizon unlocked GN 2 only to find out that the data does not work!! I rooted and now it's perfect, my only concern is, how safe is this root? I am talking from a banking / credit card and stuff like that prospective.
Thanks for your help
