How to open any app in Pen Window mode on the Galaxy Note 3

Galaxy Note 3 comes with the awesome Pen Window mode that allows you to draw an approximately square or rectangular shape on the display, and an app of your choosing can be opened in that size, while you can still operate what's behind it, for some quick multitasking. The thing is that Samsung only allows its default apps to be opened like that, while your beloved third party applications are left out in the cold from the Pen Windows functionality. If you want to run any app like that, you'd have to root the Note 3 first, then follow the instructions inside...

Why draw a square after tapping on the pen window option, why not instantly pop-up the compatible apps?

I'd say so you can choose the size of window you want to use.

I'd say your suggestion has merit, but it's more easier to just make the window of your size appear by drawing that size than by resizing the window after preset window appears.

It really isn't your size. You draw whatever box and the window will still pop up as a small portrait or landscape depending on screen orientation. You can also resize later, so I'd either skip the drawing step, or the S-pen menu:
Say you click on the button and draw a circle, it instantly puts content into the scrapbook. Button and box, pop-up option, button and double knock, S-note. Right now there are corners to cut.

Actually, the drawn box sizes vary. I just tested the pen window feature on my note 3 & depending on the size of the window I draw the chosen app launched accordingly.

".....suggestion has merit, but it's more easier to just make...." should be "suggestion has merit, but it's EASIER to just make," ther is no "more" just an "easier"
