How often do you use the stylus in your Samsung Galaxy Note/Note II?

0. phoneArena 13 Dec 2012, 06:12 posted on

Now that the Note II has been out for a while, and with the Note customers having more than a year of feedback, we wanted to ask the Note/Note II owners whether the stylus is indeed an indispensable everyday tool, something that proves handy now and then, or is it mostly gathering dust in the silo. Checkmark your usage in the poll inside, and share in the comments your personal experiences with the second life of the stylus...

Actually, there should have been an option that said "I didn't read the article and now I'm going to complain there wasn't an option in the poll that wasn't directed at me to begin with" since you seem to have been one of those people.

I am REALLY enjoying the HTC Droid DNA right now. It's the best smartphone around. I am definitely going to jump on the Samsung Galaxy Note III when it comes out next year.

6.3" 1080p Super AMOLED RGB HD screen will just be EPIC. Also how about 4GB of RAM on that beast!

Let the rumors fly! This time next year I will be using a stylus for sure! lol

Anything above 6 inch is not a phone anymore.
I would say the note 3 should be between 5.8 to 6 inch max depending on the bezel and how sammy can adjust the size of this monster phablet that I love.
4GB ram is welocme but I would say more likely the note 3 will have 3GB ram.

I agree, though, it would be great to have a voice radio on a 7"+ tablet!!

So you like the DNA?? I was wondering if Verizon customers would buy it or not. I dont have Verizon, but I was wondering if the bettery life on the DNA would be a downside to it??

I dont know what it is about HTC, but they dont supply their phones with sufficient battery life for their phones. I have the Inspire from AT&T and I have to keep a charger cord with me at ALL TIMES lol. Youd think after the lackluster battery issues HTC had with the Inspire (AT&T) and the Thunderbolt (Verizon) that they wouldve learned their lesson by now

The HTC Droid DNA is the first phone with great battery life from HTC’s camp. The 1080p SLCD-3 HD screen with the quad-core Qualcomm Krait S4 Pro is VERY, VERY good with battery life. I can get over 3 hours of screen on time & almost 2 days 16 hours on a single charge. That is Wi-Fi at night & 4G from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. That is with regular calls, texting & web browsing.

Now if I watch let’s say 3 Walking Dead episodes back to back & play 1 hour of Temple Run my phone will last 22 hours on a single charge, streaming HD content is WAY more taxing than just straight web browsing.

To me that is GREAT & it's WAY better than I was getting on my rooted Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

The HTC Droid DNA is the best smartphone around right now. The BEST phablet around is the Samsung Galaxy Note II. To ME the 2 best Android devices in the world right now are the HTC Droid DNA/J Butterfly & the Samsung Galaxy Note II undisputedly.

i agree with what you said about the Note II and im glad that you responded about the DNA because, again, I havent heard any reviews about it from Verizon customers yet.

I stand corrected about the DNA and im glad that you said what you said. I guess the quad-core processor on the DNA makes a difference! I still like the Note II, but Id consider the DNA if there was an AT&T variant

For me, the ability to preview the content of e-mails by hovering the stylus over the e-mail makes the cost of the Note II worth every penny. I don't use the stylus every time I use the Note II, but when I am checking e-mail, the stylus is out before I open the e-mail app.

I'm not really sure what stylus really means, but one thing I know is that this feature is the first and revolutionary exclusive made only for galaxy note :)

A stylus is like that little thing you use as a rectal thermometer except, the one on the Galaxy Note II is removable whereas, yours' is permanently stuck in.

Besides that, my Galaxy Note II's stylus has special powers; I even used it to create my new AvAtAr ☆

It does allow for a level of accuracy that cannot come from a finger. For drawing etc

but that's a very rare occasion........and you can also get the same amount of accuracy on the nokia's new screen, with a car key or stuff like that....you don't need a smart stylus, all you need is something sharp

There's over 1000 levels of pressure sensitivity when using the S-Pen on the GALAXY Note II, and you get 1 on every other phone except for the ones that use a wacom stylus. Using a key still gives you 1 level of pressure sensitivity.

do you really actually believe that? 1000 levels of pressure??? come on! our fingers can only even do three (soft. medium, and hard). lols

that's more than enough for any app in the play store
and the user experience should be improved by improving the screen, not the stylus
i have used that on my note and its nothing when compared to the accuracy that we get when we write on the paper with a pen
i can say that having a pen is the worst thing about the note......get the latest smart stylus and try it on you own, you will never say that again
