4.3 inch is a standard size for higher end smartphones
3.7 inch is a standard size for mid range smartphones
3.2 inch is a standard size for low end smartphones

Apple iphone is a higher end smartphone .Therefore 4.3 inch is the best size for Iphone 5..

I can agree that it would be a mid high end phone. It's not the best but it's not the worst. Somewhere in the middle. Leave the high end to Nexus devices.

At 4 inches, I doubt the iPhone display will be HD resolution. Meanwhile the high end Android phones will increasingly have HD resolution 300+ ppi displays. And sales will continue to be lost by Apple. Therefore, expect more lawsuits by Apple in its pathetic attempt to stem the tide of lost sales.

What if Apple produced more than one size iPhone. Since it's not a one size fits all world.

4.3 is a maximum. If I want something bigger I use a tablet or notebook-laptop.
Cellphone (PHONE) should fit comfortable in my pocket.

I've actually found 4.8" to be my maximum. Of course this is opinionated, but the SGSIII is the prefect size for me.

These polls seem to emerge when there is a discrepancy that leaves Apple vulnerable to criticism.

This always reasserts the argument that Apple should release multiple choices. Why should everyone in the Apple camp be limited?

Even in debating what size is preferred amoung Apple users, the tastes vary. This further confirms the argument. Apple is going to consume profits from individuals sacrificing their actual wishes or preferences. No one should have to when spending top dollar for a product.

Just curious how Apple is going to address the 'pixel perfect' aspect in their apps if they change the screen size.

Needs to be between 4.3 and 4.5". Apple doesn't seem to get the fact that users want a bigger screen........bigger than 4"............and they refuse to consider anything larger. They're like Microsoft in the sense that MS doesn't get the fact that not many people like their stupid tiles......they just keep on making phones with them and everybody keeps on NOT buying them..

I predict that Apple will begin to lose sells after this iPhone is released if the next model is not made with at least a 4.3" screen.

I would say 4.3 just to stay competitive.. Just about every high end phone has at least a 4.3 inch screen.

Once again, ALL Apple haters comment on apple stories. Very amusing, truly. You have to come in and pump your own tires while bashing on the fruit. What happened to all of you that chirped Apple last Wednesday morning, SIX days ago after the so called miss on wall street with the price down to $568. Take a look at where its trading right now... I dare you. NOTHING BEATS APPLE. Not even Wall Street.

4.0 is all they need one handed operation is a strong selling point for customers.

I think screen sizes over 4" for a phone are a bit crazy. You are getting towards tablet territory, and If you do need a screen bigger than 4" then you obviously do not need a /phone/, you need a tablet with 3G. There has to be a balance between the device still having function for its intended purpose (its a Phone!).

The current trend (with Android devices anyhow) is bigger is better. They keep pushing the screen size up and up in order to stand out from each previous handset. Well it can only go up so far before you are basically holding a tablet to the side of your head looking like a muppet. I don't think the next iPhone will be anything over 4" to keep the one handed operation aspect as you said.
