Here's why Microsoft employees will be unhappy even though the Lumia 920 is selling very well
0. phoneArena posted on 20 Dec 2012, 03:33
Back in September, Microsoft promised to give its employees a free Windows Phone 8 smartphone of their choosing. However, since most employees decided to go for one of the best WP8 models yet, the Nokia Lumia 920, it seems they will have to wait a bit longer before they can get their hands on one...

how about, let employee get their choice!!!
Patient? Wait for the Lumia 920
Impatient? Get wp8x instead...
That way your employee will be happy as L920 sell well too LOL

Or help yourself to the second in charge Lumia 820, if you are stuck to nokia
Otherwise try Ativ S

i think the reason why Microsoft is doing this it's because they don't want people to be very in to Nokia Lumia 920...they want to push htc to top as well...
shame in Microsoft! people will always live Nokia whatever you'll do!
it's the return of the king

I am EXTREMELY happy about this! Being a three year in a row Android user, I am getting bored of it. It lags and stutters even on the best hardware because of what it is based on, and the app design isn't consistent, some apps support holo theme, some don't. So I am really happy that an OS that is more open than iOS yet not too open so it overwhelms developers is succeeding :)

"It lags and stutters even on the best hardware" seriously you need to get hold of the note 2.

Hahahaha that's actually my current smartphone XDD It's good for the most part, but try having an expanded notification and one normal notification, all hell breaks loose on touchwiz apps.

Its Tegra was a cause of concern for me.... and it doesn't handle multitasking well at all... at least as far as I tried it.

What? You're calling me an apple fanboy? Lmao, wait till anyone who really knows me hears that! I am not really a fanboy of any OS. I love all OSs equally except iOS which I hate.

How can you quit android after three years and you say you are getting bored of it, because it lags and shutters. I have the dna,gs3, and razr hd, i have never experience such things. stop buying those low budget android phones and move up to the big boys before you run thru the that WINDOW Thats good to no you not a undercover i sheep. Im curious to no what android phones do you have that you experience this with.
25. AliNSiddiqui posted on 20 Dec 2012, 07:13 4 0
I didn't quit android... Like I said above, my current android smartphone is the Note II and i wont get another phone till next year. I didn't say I am getting bored of it because it lags and stutters, those are completely two different notes. God dude, how can I defend myself when you have reading problems?! Anyways, if you say that you don't experience lag, then you must not be sensitive to stuttering frame rates like I am or you choose to ignore them because you love android so much, which I still do, but my first phone was a galaxy S, then Galaxy S II and then the Note II, and one thing that didn't change was the fact that all of them were laggy in some way.. A change from single core to dual core and then to quad core.. One would expect that quad core would be enough to run it smoothly.. But it doesnt.. In most cases it does.. But when it doesn't its kind of annoying.
27. parkwaydr posted on 20 Dec 2012, 07:48 1 1
I'm not doubting you. I started out on the sanyo zio and it was horrid you wanna talk about lag and fc sheesh. I took it back and was temped to give up on android but I went the the evo 4g. And never had a problem with it. Now I have a gnex and I've never been happier. It really all depends on what device you have.
31. AliNSiddiqui posted on 20 Dec 2012, 08:15 0 0
Well... Most would say that the Note II is the fastest android device... Others would say that it is the Droid DNA but given how many pixels it has to push with a cortex a9 chip, it's lag is understandable.
29. android78 (unregistered) posted on 20 Dec 2012, 08:07 0 0
LOL, I read perfectly bro, just made a mistake and put that because in there. but hopefully by the time your contract is up next year, that note 3 or another high end android phone want have your lag shuttering frame rates problem that you are sensitive to. Im curious have you played with or experienced any windows 8. do they not have lag and shuttering you speak of? Do you think you want get bored with windows 8 and their tiles?
30. AliNSiddiqui posted on 20 Dec 2012, 08:14 1 0
I did try windows phone 8 and i didn't experience any stutter or lag for as long as I tried.. Of course I will get bored of Windows Phone, probably even faster than android since android changes so drastically every year plus the wide variety of launchers keep me busy every day, and then there is XDA... thing is, not even note III will get rid of Androids lag.. Android lags in the first place because it's apps run on java virtual machine.. You can only optimize that so far. If android truly wants a lag free system, they are going to have to overhaul the whole system and write android from scratch on a different base, which I am sure as you may have guessed, is probably not worth it.
33. android78 (unregistered) posted on 20 Dec 2012, 09:21 0 0
You make some very valid points my friend, what windows 8 phone or tablet are you plan on purchasing? do you plan on having both android and window 8?
35. AliNSiddiqui posted on 20 Dec 2012, 10:38 0 0
I'm glad how this started out as an accusation and ended in you being my friend :)
If i do get a WP device it will be at the end of next year, and I will only get a WP9 device if Key Lime Pie doesn't make much changes interface wise, if that is the case, I am definitrly going to Nokia, they're innovating like crazy right now. And I am definitrly going to keep an android phone no matter what...
40. android78 (unregistered) posted on 20 Dec 2012, 22:27 0 0
exactly my friend, seems like when been knowing each other for years, LOL, you taught me a couple new things about apps and what to look for. Hopefully key lime pie gives you exactly what you want. Even so, i am loyal android fan, I do love good competition, honestly also think nokia, make outstanding products. I wouldnt mind having a nice wp9 or nokia product on the side to use behind closed doors. LOL, I also think nokia has great products comin out and i hope nokia, rim, and htc can turn there mis fortunes around because competition always makes everyone better. I Wanted to also get your feelings on bb10, do you like there new direction and do you think they will have no lag and stutter in there os and apps? would you consider a bb10 device?
41. AliNSiddiqui posted on 21 Dec 2012, 02:40 0 0
BB10 is extremely innovative but at the same time their interface is a mix of android and iOS, they have one screen of widgets and the rest are icons. The thing they're doing with gestures is AMAZING. I think it is great to have everything at the touch of a fingertip. I definitely like their new direction. It is QNX based so lag can be gotten rid of although I don't think BB10 will be smooth as it is their first OS after their old mess. So it will take some time to iron things out. As for whether or not I will get it, I don't think I will... when I look at a phone I look at a hundred things, display, speaker, and camera are one of the few things I think blackberry will fall short on. So for now it is just key lime pie and WP9 for me... unless of course I turn out to be wrong and the BB Device has a staggering camera, display, etc which I HIGHLY doubt. By the way, I also love android so much that I hope I stay with it. My first smartphone was a galaxy s and ever since then I have only gotten samaumg devices. I am not a Samsung or android fanboy but it is just that they both have such an amazing combination that I just can't resist. And until this year, android didn't have ANY competition. That's why I am happy that RIM and kicrosof are doing what they're doing with their OSs.

Thats some great insight you gave me my friend, you are really sharp and no your tech, I agree with you, on the bb10 gestures, that is awesome. I love android but wouldnt mind giving bb10 or wp8 a look at because of some of the great points you made, but thanks for all your input my friend, we started off a little bumpy but i feel i made a great friend, I want to wish you and your family a great holiday and marry xmas my friend alinsiddiqul...

Two years ago, I would've cursed everyone who would disagree with me, now, though, I try to be far more calm and try to present my points and why I think the way I do and that seems to have made me friends online :D
I also wish you and your family a great holiday and Merry Christmas to you too :)

34. lzsbleach posted on 20 Dec 2012, 10:01 0 1
@AliNSiddiqui dont give up on Android man, trust me they will fix it. Look at last year at this time compared to right now; theres so much of a difference. Android is moving fast with no signs of slowing down and trust me in the next year or so Android will be just as fluent as WP and IOS.
36. AliNSiddiqui posted on 20 Dec 2012, 10:40 0 0
Thing is... It can't... Technically speaking.. Java will never be completely smooth.. They will have to change the base. As for giving up on Android.. That's not what I am doing.. Microsoft is doing a great job with providing a medium level of freedom with its OS and i have to test the waters and give it a shot... But wither way, I will always have an android device with me...

the ONE and ONLY reason that the lumia 920 sells like hotcakes is due to the name NOKIA and not due to the name MICROSOFT....!

The answer is in your question, they do not want "cheap android device"
They want high-quality phone as the Nokia Lumia 920.
14. 8logic posted on 20 Dec 2012, 05:20 4 5
they probably would prefer an android, but since they are stuck with windows, minus well get the best window can offer

@rajagosarapailin.k So they buy Nokia name with wp8. What does that mean? So they're gonna just buy the name and hold and luster over the phone without using it. Be serious! Go home and rest your brain.
26. rajagopalan.k posted on 20 Dec 2012, 07:29 0 0
ask any person who owns a lumia this question
q: why a lumia?
a: "made by nokia!"
cause everyone knows before nokia started doing wp devices
the market share was wp

28. lubba posted on 20 Dec 2012, 07:54 2 0
@rajagosarapailin.k you could say the same for any other.
why buy a GS3? made by Samsung.
why buy iPhone? made by Apple.
I bought my Lumia 920 Because of Wp and Nokia. Actually because of the camera. So choice is based on many things. Its not specific.
32. jsdechavez posted on 20 Dec 2012, 08:37 4 0
If I were an employee, I'd be happy despite not getting the Lumia too soon. That the product is selling well means I keep my job.
