Here's the ad Samsung is running against the iPhone 5 launch nationwide

0. phoneArena posted on 15 Sep 2012, 16:40

The ad shows the Apple iPhone 5, turned off, and with the main features listed underneath, and then the Samsung Galaxy S III in all its glory against it, with a list of its own features listed below. As you can easily guess, the Galaxy S III list is much longer for a purpose, and there is a big fat title at the top saying "It doesn't take a genius"...

Samsung is looking really desperate now. When you focus this much attention on another company you look ridiculous. If your product is better, it'll speak for itself. Samsung is by far the most jealous company I have ever seen. Give it a rest already.

Dude I was trying to thumb up ur comment and accidentally thumbed it down. My bad. Thumbs up!!!

Despite that ad I will still b inline this Friday to get my ip5. Took the day off with pay. Come home set it up, then it's off to the gym.

47. PapaSmurf posted on 15 Sep 2012, 17:34 2

Curious, what's your current phone?

57. darkkjedii posted on 15 Sep 2012, 17:39 1

3GS,4S and Htc one x international.

58. darkkjedii posted on 15 Sep 2012, 17:41 1

My 3GS has a cracked screen though but it still works lol

51. wassup posted on 15 Sep 2012, 17:36 7

wait in line you mean?
sorry darkjedii, but i used to think you were smart... not only are you buying an overpriced peice of junk, but you're willing to wait in line too?
you are exactly the kind of sheep that Apple loves.

65. darkkjedii posted on 15 Sep 2012, 17:47 4

Whatup wassup. To b honest I could've pre ordered but shipping times were 14-21 days. As far as standing inline I love being a people person, also at met my girl standing in line for the iPhone 4 n 2010, and we're still going strong so it all good

74. darkkjedii posted on 15 Sep 2012, 17:55 1

oops i meant also I met my girl

70. darkkjedii posted on 15 Sep 2012, 17:50 3

Dang bro do I have to b a sheep though? No need to insult me... I jus want the phone dude. I have a Htc one x international also and I had to order it thru future tronics here in las Vegas an paid 800 bucks so maybe jus maybe I'm a techie, not a sh**p.

85. angelohizzo posted on 15 Sep 2012, 18:22 3

Evidently, some people just feel better by insulting others. Since last February I've owned the Galaxy Nexus, International GSIII, AT&T HTC One X, and AT&T GSIII (in that order), but since I kept going back to my iPhone 4S and Pre-ordered the 5 I'm a "sheep" too. To that I say,
I'm a proud educated "sheep" that know which cell phone works (and may work) best for me.

89. darkkjedii posted on 15 Sep 2012, 18:31 2

I totally agree with u. We like what we like. What's wrong with that?

168. Alistaire posted on 15 Sep 2012, 21:05 2

So you are that guy who loves everyone but commit to none? ...lol...

188. angelohizzo posted on 15 Sep 2012, 22:56

I commit to what's best for me.
Based on the phones I prefer I guess I'll fall in the apple camp.
I'm not close minded though. I won't stop trying Androids because I like the iPhones.

293. verty posted on 16 Sep 2012, 19:56

You are so dry!!!!! I Can't believe it returning to the iphone and you are proud!!!!! Stale and uninnovative and boring ios. GS3 you rock all the way!!!!

294. angelohizzo posted on 16 Sep 2012, 20:14

Dry? Sure whatever.
I like what works for me. I also wear shirts that have holes for my arms/body/head.
It's not that innovative but it sure works.
Through my experience I found iOS works better than GS3. I won't deny that iOS' smoothess is unmatched, no matter what the spec sheets are.
Yes, I've owned enough variants of the GS3 to call it as it is. GS3 rocks, better than all androids out there, but it just so happens it doesn't run as smooth as my 4S.

93. wassup posted on 15 Sep 2012, 18:38 1

okay, maybe the sheep was overboard, i was mad... i apologize.
but still can't wait in line though, prefer buying from airports, since i travel every month, i get it then without having to wait in line... plus, you get international versions, so no carrier bulls**t, and you get awesome deals!
no offense tho

98. darkkjedii posted on 15 Sep 2012, 18:43 1

It's all good bro. Apology accepted

95. XPERIA-KNIGHT posted on 15 Sep 2012, 18:42 3

105. darkkjedii posted on 15 Sep 2012, 18:57 1

114. XPERIA-KNIGHT posted on 15 Sep 2012, 19:08 1

yea but i bet you have no idea about other phone selections like the S3 the one x one s etc.......and even if you did you are soo convinced that the iphone is the best because thats what the media has washed you with, that you wouldnt even try another phone....

118. darkkjedii posted on 15 Sep 2012, 19:15 1

Dude I own a one x, and I've had the evo evo 3d original droid sprint and unlocked Htc hero g1 my touch 3G blackberry storm Samsung omnia Samsung moment palm treo 750p and gs3 for a day. I'm not a sheep I'm a techie. I simply prefer apple that's all

136. XPERIA-KNIGHT posted on 15 Sep 2012, 19:49 1

dont know how......but ok dude

129. darkkjedii posted on 15 Sep 2012, 19:31 1

I left out the gs2 and skyrocket on AT&T

147. chaoticrazor posted on 15 Sep 2012, 20:10 1

darkkjeddi apparently you have every phone out the way you go on, when in fact i bet you just say that to try and give your pro apple crap more force.

and you saying you met your girl there, funny becuase on a differant article you said you like waiting inline and you mite meet a cute girl...........so you have a girl but your hoping to meet a girl..............something dont add up

back to the phones if you happy to wait in line for last years phone go ahead but dont put crap trying to justify it

171. darkkjedii posted on 15 Sep 2012, 21:23

lool at the phones I stated the list goes back to 07 with the palm treo, and back up till now. I've had lots of phones over the years...that's my point. I prefer iOS though, and yes I met her waiting n line (mite meet a cute chick) is generalizing based on meeting her.

166. Alistaire posted on 15 Sep 2012, 21:03 1

So do you find the 4" screen better? How do you find the the phone. Objectively of course.

I had the 4 and my sisters the 4S. It's just so small. And all our home buttons became desensitized after a year and have to install an onscreen home button.

Now I'm with Lumia 900 and my sisters One X and SGIII.

172. darkkjedii posted on 15 Sep 2012, 21:26 1

Screen size doesn't matter as much as overall performance, but I prefer a larger screen. 4 isn't as nice as 4.3-4.8, but it is what it is. I like em all but once again I prefer iOS.

242. chaoticrazor posted on 16 Sep 2012, 08:47

im guessing your not very much into tech and been able to customize to your own preferences.

so now you prefer a larger screen but i bet when the 4s was out you were telling everyone its the perfect sized screen and you dont need anything bigger.

see ifans always changed there opinions when apple do , and they wonder why people call them sheep. atleast with even the most crazed fandroids most can admit when a phone isnt what they were hoping for or just not as good as they claim but apple users believe whatever apple tell them.

266. darkkjedii posted on 16 Sep 2012, 14:07

I can admit when a phone isn't what I hoped for, and there r things I don't like about the iPhone as well as my one x. Both phones r excellent. Yet neither r perfect. I don't really care for the 4S's screen size, or the one x's software instability. They r both very good devices, but the iPhone does run a bit smoother, yet I own and swear by both. People should simply by what THEY want with THEIR money and enjoy it. Like I do I'm an ifandroid lol. That was a good one huh

269. darkkjedii posted on 16 Sep 2012, 14:13

I'm very much into tech also. That's y I love the iOS approach too, cuz there's more to tech than jus android. Like there's more to cars than just the lambo. Lambos appeal to their sector, camrys appeal to theirs. C my point.

271. chaoticrazor posted on 16 Sep 2012, 15:19

i didnt say tech revolved around android , that argument where ifans automatically think if your negative to apple your a fandroid falls on its face i dont own an adroid plus i see the bad with them as well as good.

as for running smoother, thats sunject to phone use, heavy users will see a decrease after piling apps, music videos etc onto there device.

your little metaphor thing using the lambo makes no sense. if your gonna compare phones with cars its hard to do but nearest is iphone wud be a porsche except the iphone has the pricetag of a bugatti.

272. darkkjedii posted on 16 Sep 2012, 16:36

Ok bro it's all good. I like android, and iOS and in the mean time I'm gonna spend my cash on what I want , and rite now that's the iPhone 5 that I'm gonna get and enjoy this Friday. I hope u enjoy ur current and next device. See the respect I showed u? I wish all iOS and android users showed this level of respect when they disagree.

43. tedkord posted on 15 Sep 2012, 17:28 2

So, then Apple were looking desperate with the Mac vs. PC ads, right?

50. darkkjedii posted on 15 Sep 2012, 17:35 1

Ted u have a point, bu that was mc vs pc not make vs acer, or toshiba Sony or wait for it........ Samsung. It was this type vs that type no one particular bro.

52. darkkjedii posted on 15 Sep 2012, 17:36

Oops Mac not make

66. PapaSmurf posted on 15 Sep 2012, 17:47 2

Same rule applies. It's Apple vs. Samsung. Do you see Apple suing LG? Sony? RIM? Sir Isaac Newton?

75. darkkjedii posted on 15 Sep 2012, 17:56

Good point

107. tedkord posted on 15 Sep 2012, 19:00

And you really think that distinction makes it different?

119. darkkjedii posted on 15 Sep 2012, 19:16

Well yes I do bro

258. Abbath posted on 16 Sep 2012, 10:42

Actually it was also targeted at Microsoft as well!

44. PapaSmurf posted on 15 Sep 2012, 17:33 2

Are you kidding me? Mac vs. PC ads, trying to ban the GS3/Note because they're Samsung's best sellers and the fact that they literally rush to the patent office with "ideas" and technology that isn't theirs?

152. Zero0 posted on 15 Sep 2012, 20:15 2

Apple created the second most popular desktop OS. Apple released a series of ads bashing the number one desktop OS.

Some years later, Samsung creates the second most popular smartphone. Samsung releases an ad bashing the number one smartphone.

Welcome to advertising.

216. illiad posted on 16 Sep 2012, 04:10

I think you will find 'desktop apple' is a world of difference from the iphone...

Just like comparing desktop windows to mobile windows...

263. Zero0 posted on 16 Sep 2012, 13:53

Irrelevant.

The point was that it's evidently not okay for Samsung to make an anti-Apple attack ad, but it's apparently not an issue when Apple does the same to Microsoft.

215. illiad posted on 16 Sep 2012, 04:07 2

samsung jealous??? about as jealous as you are looking at a guy that has a smaller/less powerful car than you....:/

I think you would be the source of laughter, if your shorts were shorter than all the 'standard length' shorts.. ROFL :D

640 screen?? 720 is the wide-screen standard....

252. Abbath posted on 16 Sep 2012, 10:23

If what you said is true why the bloody heck is Apple suing everyone??? check your facts wiseguy!

297. jroc74 posted on 17 Sep 2012, 00:12

Yea....I wonder if you liked those Mac vs. PC ads from back in the day....

They showed Macs in a better light than PC's.

18. darkkjedii posted on 15 Sep 2012, 17:09 6

What Samsung needs to understand is apples users, one of which I am don't care about specs they care about the overall user experience. Samsungs ad will not result n apple losing a single current customer, but some potential ones it might. Also Sammy's ad isn't totally correct as it leaves out a lot of what apple does have like bump which hops data from one iOS device to another, and a few other they both have in common. Don't get me wrong guys I love Samsung too but that ad won't achieve it's goal, if that goal is to dampen ip5 sales.

IT SURE DOES NOT TAKE A GENIUS BUT IT TAKE DUMB A***S TO CHOOSE IPHONE

32. adnanphonearena posted on 15 Sep 2012, 17:17 2

Illegal according to legal rules.. respective body can bring actions against Samsung for this approach.

53. tedkord posted on 15 Sep 2012, 17:37 6

No, they can't. Nothing in the ad is untrue, there's nothing Apple can do about the ad.

60. SmartGadgetS posted on 15 Sep 2012, 17:41

Do you really think Apple will care about this Ad?? Samsung looks worried making ads like this... Samsung shouldn't be worried... There are "enough users" for both phones and os's.

108. tedkord posted on 15 Sep 2012, 19:02 5

Again, then Apple looked worried with the Mac vs. PC ads. No difference.

Samsung sold 20 million SGS3s in under 100 days. They had over 9 million preordered. They're not worried.

162. Alistaire posted on 15 Sep 2012, 20:50 4

Apple should be worried. When I take the subway every morning to work, in the same train car seeing pretty much the same commuters.

2 years ago, still most people are holding an Iphone. And now, you see a few iphones, then Samsung SII, SIII, Note. And even WP these days.

I say apple should be worried and probably have to do something drastic very soon. Apart from suing Samsung.

68. PapaSmurf posted on 15 Sep 2012, 17:49 2

Then Apple must sue AT&T for posting the specs of the iPhone on their website. Will it happen? Nope.

34. sabretigger posted on 15 Sep 2012, 17:19 2

As much as I love Samsung, I do however find this approach tacky. Much preferred the TVs ads of s2 vs apple fans queuing outside the store!
