You've probably been taught in school that pouring hot water in a glass container isn't a good idea. That's because the rapid shift in temperature may cause the glass to crack, and the thinner the material, the greater the risk is. Apparently, the same phenomenon can be observed on a smartphone – the Google Nexus 4, in particular, which has fancy glass layer on its back. And no, hot liquids aren't required. Reportedly, all that it takes is a warm hand and a solid counter top...
