Samsung today announced its new Galaxy Mega smartphones, and boy are they enormous! With screen sizes of 6.3 and 5.8 inches, these devices easily make the Galaxy Note II seem like a small device...

This s**t is just dumb. Who here is dumb enough to actually buy phones this large? People who do are worse than kids who buy iPhones just to have iPhones. "Gotta have the biggest....cuz it's the biggest". Retards.

In that pictures you can see the difference between the S4, the Note and the Mega phones, but between the Mega 6.3 and the Mega 5.8 they don't look that different. If Samsung wanted to release a phone bigger than the Note they should have release just a single device, maybe a 6 inch phablet or the 6.3 model.

I would love to get Galaxy Mega 5.8, but the build quality is what stopping me to get another samsung phone. Htc one is better phone overall in terms of quality and features. But i will for GOOGLE to release their next version of Nexus and then decide. So far it looks like im getting MOTO X PHONE.

Wait, I thought the Mega was supposed to be the successor to the Note 2? Clearly not judging by the specs...seems like mid-range phablets. So perplexed by Sammy's strategy....anyone know if they're still planning to launch a Note 3 that'll quietly put the S4 to shame (just as the Note 2 did to the S3)??

How will this 6.3 or even the 5.8 fit on my pocket? And don't tell me. It has the same cost as the Grand. Oh! by the way. Why didn't you compare the size of GRAND?

looks like an awesome phone. unfortunately doesn't look much diff. than what Samsung is currently offering so looks like Apple & Samsung are following in each others footsteps (Apple offering bigger sized screens & Samsung making newer models almost identical to the previous w/incremental upgrades).

The Note II surprisingly looks like a smaller, "normal" sized phone in these comparisons.

Some people will buy them just to pose. If sales are poor, Samsung will just drop the 'Mega' and try something else. (remember back in the day when Samsung were fighting to have the world's thinnest dumbphone? I still have the X820 - 6.9mm). Now they are going for a different kind of 'dumb'. At least Samsung give you plenty of choice and aren't afraid to fail occasionally, even if it sometimes seems their design dept have been spending too much 'quality time' on the ganja-pipe. I like and buy Samsung products, but these Megas are mad.
