If the multitude of rumors are to be trusted, there is an iPad mini announcement coming up next month. Even the New York Times reported that a smaller iPad model is being worked on, meaning that the chances of Apple entering the 7-inch tablet market seem pretty high at this time. But what might an iPad mini look like?...

If you have an iphone do you need an ipad? if you have an ipad do you need an iphone?

actually, YES! i have both and its well worth it... the ipad allows you to not only SEE as you can on the iphone but WORK on projects as well. and the cloud service makes things much more simpler.
a lot of times its better to see things on a larger scale as well. but the iphone is useful because its a "phone" where the ipad isn't.
lastly, the ipad has a lot of different apps that the iphone doesn't

Very well said, but android users will still bash, and thumb down your intelligent post.

bloodline the same could be said about Android.
I have a Galaxy Nexus and do not NEED my GT10.1 but I like to have it for the same reasons good2great said.
There are times where i'm on the couch reading an article on my phone and just reach for the tablet to read it on a larger screen.
Or when i'm on the train it's great for watching movies... my laptop battery only lasts 2-4 hours where my GT10.1 can get a good 10 of playback.

how else could it look like? all apple products look alike! nothing changes. that's why it's difficult to make Apple concepts.. nothing much to change.

Apple concepts are so hard to make becuse you need to be perfectly versed in their design language but you must allways be less creative than your bottom treshold of creativity is.
It's like a race where the winner is the slowest, so the right thing to do is to go forward under 0 mph.

Here's what the new iPad mini MIGHT look like:
"New iPad" x 70% = "New iPad Mini"
Oh by the way it's changing the world again, one inch at a time.

At least the 4x4 grid of icons looks more natural. All the space on the iPad going to waste because they didn't allow for more icons in the same space.

Anyone have any idea about the price of the new iPad mini?
Because I really would like to buy a 7 inch tablet, and I am waiting for the Nexus 7, that will be available here in Italy in September for €249. BUT in this italian site:
they suppose that the price of the new iPad mini will be under 250$, that is, under 250€ (as usually a 1:1 exchange rate is applied). In this case I would prefer to buy an Apple product.
Can you confirm this rumor?
Thank you very much.

The iPad mini looks really wide. Why can't apple use the modern standard aspect ratio of 16:9? It's not that hard.
