WOW...I am waiting for this...Since Unity introduction, I stopped using Ubuntu Linux. Probably I try to run Android on my PC.

However, I am waiting for Google to launch officialy Android for PC...

This is kinda old news to those who truly follow android and not just buy the phone and think that they become a tech guru overnight. I've had ice cream sandwich and jelly bean installed for years, along with meego, windows phone 7 and now windows phone 8. This is how true developers test their apps. This is why I'm looking forward to jolla. Android is too buggy. Windows is partially locked down. I've almost completely ported meego to a coby 7'' music player. I'm waiting for the jolla sdk.

hmm, some netbooks like the Acer Aspire One series have pre.installed Android with dual boot to Windows 7. I guess the pre-installed Android was 2.2 or 2.3

ASUS is the best for Android x86 its an old info. But before intalling run in live mode,check for cpu variation .iso. Intel or amd.

I started running Android ICS on my Lenovo S10-3t touchscreen netbook this past summer. It came with Windows 7, and after upgrading it with a fresh install to Win7 Pro and eliminating the bloatware, it was still too slow.

It really speeds it up. The latest version I have is the Release Candidate version 2, so it does still have it's share of bugs, but it basically turns it into a tablet with a dedicated keyboard. It's great for living room web surfing, organizing, etc., but I also have it connected to Google Drive and have work tools setup on it as well.

It's basically like combining a tablet with a Chromebook. You have all the benefits of a Chromebook (quick startup, virus free web browsing, document creation via Google Drive) and the ability to run most apps in the Google Play store, plus a drive to save your data to.

I'd honestly consider making the move to an official Android netbook or laptop. I'd just like to see support for connecting directly to a Cisco or Avaya serial port for console configuration. If it had that, it'd be my dedicated work laptop. For now, it's my dedicated home laptop.

Does it delete my current operating system? Does it format my hard drives? I'm planning to install that to experience Android features in my PC. But I still want my current operating system AND my files.
