My Nexus 7 Arrives This weekend, I'll stack some games against the iPad(Sold) bu my guess it the new iPhone 5 chip, plus some games arent using full screen real estate yet but I'll check and see, also could be since android games are built to work on many devices optimization could lack optimization for certain things

New iPad runs games smoother than Nexus 7, but lags aren't invisible. I've had N7 but I didn't like that most of apps were just blown up versions of smartphones, unlike iPad apps are optimized especially for that. We are actually talking about how Android runs games, so it's not really offtop.

it was not the new ipad but iPad 2, what apps you tried? I wont install anything not optimized for 4.0 and they all have tablet look built in only things missing are Facebook an twitter but most things I have use tablet hybrid UI (I'll take screenhsots) but I don't think I'll see a lot of change

The iPhone 5 runs smoother than any Android device for many reasons. The biggest one is the software/hardware integration. Another is the ridiculously advanced chipset in it, I love Android, but Apple's A6 is unbelievable.

iPhone 5 runs smoother because it's a closed platform, and theres way better optimization because there are only like 3 idevices, compared to the hundreds of androids. It doesn't run smoother just on chips alone.

Nothing new that Android needs more power to compute games; most people choose Android because it gives a desktop feeling with its multitasking, file browsing, usb support, can turn into a mass storage device, google integration, full web browsing experience with desktop ua and such...

Android needs to be compiled with the dalvik vm, ios in object c directly talks with hardware. Anyway google is translatin android to C, we'll see...

If you buy a smartphone for gaming yes iphone performs better (s4 pro may have similar performance)

Iphone5 is not 720P, does not have live wallpapers, widgets, nfc, etc...

Less stuff you can do with the iphone5, so it has more power to run on games

yup, the mapping tech is the key to having physical controllers for android. I mean, a lot of people already have bluetooth controllers and there are cheap ones available, so why not just map it, right?
