Here are the newest HTC DLX renders: a 5-inch 1080p device for Asia?

You have heard about it - the 5-inch 1080p monster phone that has first appeared as the HTC J Butterfly, and later resurfaced as the Verizon-bound Droid DNA, and now the HTC DLX…

HTC has redeemed itself a little with this one
DLX is much better name than DNA, and no ugly carrier's logo to spoil things.

Well said.. Especially when HTC's profits are in the red & when Samsung dominates the whole smartphone arena. Samsung makes the best phones. Period, Sales will prove that to you.

just like sales prove the iphone is the "BEST SMART PHONE IN THE WORLD" .......right? I didnt think so bro........The design and premium builds of htc phones will always out weigh the geeky gimmicks and plasticky builds of samusng its time we value what really matters and not a bag full of magic tricks...
15. yowanvista (Posts: 298; Member since: 20 Sep 2011)
Sure, but let's not forget to mention HTC's horrible software, the lack of proper multitasking (they called it a feature), the resource hog sense UI, lack of MicroSD etc, hardware WiFi issues on the One X..
17. XPERIA-KNIGHT (Posts: 2384; Member since: 08 Aug 2012)
its not so bad bro i think you're exaggerating a bit here to try and justify what i just wrote.....Sense has gotten much lighter as well as better at multitasking and they also are moving from sd cards to 64 gb INTERNAL memory phones......Only thing "some" of us here have a concern for of them is "not as good"
battery life.......not horrible like some seem to carry on about but not amazing either......just good.........if they improve there then im sorry, HTC will undeniably be better than sammy............and yes thats regardless of sales as well

"i think you're exaggerating a bit here to try and justify what i just wrote"
So, he can't form his own opinion about HTC, like you did about Samsung? Some of us could care LESS about the "plasticky builds of Samsung". What's gimmicky to you, is actually useful to others. Your opinion doesn't make what you say fact. HTC doesn't come close when in terms of features.
26. XPERIA-KNIGHT (Posts: 2384; Member since: 08 Aug 2012)
"HTC doesn't come close when in terms of features."
hey and samsung doesnt come close in build and display.........nuff said

Oh great...Now even Samsung has sheep (I think sheepsung would be the proper word). These sheep and fan-boys need to learn that no one company is better than another. A phone (or phones) may be better than another BUT a phone does not define a company. At the end of the day all the companies are trying to do is get you to throw your money at them and the more brainwashed you are, the likelier you are to waste your money needlessly.
36. gwuhua1984 (Posts: 1237; Member since: 06 Mar 2012)
Are all these that you're saying from your personal opinion or from others? I certainly don't have any of these problem you're talking about. Bringing UI to your argument, it's obvious you haven't touched a HTC One X with sense 4.1 now with jellybean with sense 4+. By the way, that's stock ROM I'm talking about.
The only problem I see with HTC is the way they run their business. Their devices are top of the line.

Instead of picking Sense's Weak points...why don't we look at what sense is good at?
22. altarius88 (Posts: 4; Member since: 12 Nov 2012)
htc is like buying a great looking car with a crapy engine looks arent eveything but this is one beautiful phone. but doesnt compare to the features of samsung phones, now they havent mention all the spec for this phone but htc is known for lack luster battery life, camera quality, recent lack of micro sd ,and they dont offer any unique features. yes sense is better looking than touch wiz but thats it it only looks better... touch wiz has way more features bulit into it. with launchers and rooting though the look of any android can be changed. Other than design and build htc is behind the curve in comparison to samsung
25. XPERIA-KNIGHT (Posts: 2384; Member since: 08 Aug 2012)
every thing you just said is pretty much vice versa in my opinion bro..........Great looking car with a "good" engine........Not great but good.........which is why it is indeed the better "overall" choice of a samsung device......and with sense getting better there will definitely be a "great" user experience in the near future..........Samsung is the total opposite GREAT software but mediocre looks, build and display (compared to LCD)...........I said it before and ill say it again Id rather have beauty and power rather than just power alone........
Which seems to be the main differences of samsung and HTC...
28. altarius88 (Posts: 4; Member since: 12 Nov 2012)
I hear you, to each his own i guess. All depends on what you looking for. For me I always use some form of a phone case, so never really bothered me that samsung use cheap plastic.
30. XPERIA-KNIGHT (Posts: 2384; Member since: 08 Aug 2012)
Dont worry i get the feeling the Galaxy S4 will have both amazing Design and Power as well as Rich features :) and will be arguebly the best phone in long time to come!
37. thelegend6657 (unregistered)
Samsung is like a car with a powerful engine but looks ugly and have a terrible handling and rigidity
53. thelegend6657 (unregistered)
Its like a 96 mazda with a brand new V8 in it
51. danny_a2005 (Posts: 119; Member since: 06 Oct 2011)
OMG the white one with red buttons looks so sexyyyyy
58. Raymond_htc (Posts: 430; Member since: 06 Apr 2012)
You could say its an ugly supercar instead.
46. Superpiff (Posts: 36; Member since: 29 Jul 2012)
Not trying to be a jerk but what specific features are you talking about that Samsung has that HTC doesn't.its my understanding there are applications that do the same as pop up play and on the android market
32. eyad_996 (Posts: 29; Member since: 10 Jul 2012)
I would choose the bag full of magic tricks actually!!
59. Raymond_htc (Posts: 430; Member since: 06 Apr 2012)
Awww sadly all of them are illusions and will disappear in a snap of a finger.
39. No_Nonsense (Posts: 826; Member since: 17 Aug 2012)
Er, sales don't make the iPhone 5 (or any phone for that matter) the best phone in the world.
40. OptimusOne (Posts: 694; Member since: 22 May 2012)
if sales prove the best phone then shouldn't apple make one of the best phones?
this whole site knows this to be untrue
42. b1acktiger (Posts: 204; Member since: 19 May 2012)
I wont mind compromising a lil bit lag for the sense UI, I have used almost all the OEM phones like HTC, Samsung, LG, Sony, Huawei, Apple and Blackberry phones. But its worth mentioning that HTC is the only company got the upper hand in my opinion. The only thing i dont like is the marketing strategy of htc. Sony, Samsung devices are now selling hot because of flooding advts in the market. I wish HTC could pull up the sales and bring some serious threat to samsung and Apple.
Once HTC, Always HTC

HTC and Asus are the best android manufacturers .
Crapsung best for marketing

Ever wonder why HTC is in the sh!tter you dumb@$$? ever since they released the htc sensation, they've always had at least one little f*ck up that ruined it. for example, sensation had wifi death grip. one s had a touch button bug, and no sd card slot, non removable battery, locked bootloaders, and the list goes on and on. and don't even bother with asus. i've had 3 defective nexus 7's until i got tired of returning it and just decided to settle for the one with fizzling pop cracks with the external speaker.
you might be mad after reading all that but there's a reason why samsung is at the top
33. XPERIA-KNIGHT (Posts: 2384; Member since: 08 Aug 2012)
not mad cuz things are changing bro :)
43. b1acktiger (Posts: 204; Member since: 19 May 2012)
Once a device got defective, doesn't mean they will always produce a defective device. Samsung Wave 2 had a massive touch panel problem. I dont know that you know abt it or not. Did anyone stopped buying samsung ? Same as the Galaxy S3 software.
50. gwuhua1984 (Posts: 1237; Member since: 06 Mar 2012)
You must've forgotten the case flaws on SGS3 when it was first launched. The truth is still that Samsung did really good marketing. HTC has already admitted that they didn't market the One series very well.
HTC's very first quad core phone announcement got people excited, but took too long to materialize letting other manufacturers announcing their own quad core phones. If HTC bought the phone to the public sooner other than so far later, HTC would have no competition in the quad core device department. Hell, I was waiting for the quad core device the longest time, the moment it was announced a release date a SGS3 was in the work to be release soon.
I always see people talking about lack of sd-card, removable battery, etc etc... They're no longer a big deal as long as the device holds enough internal storage. HTC's battery life has been pretty good to my experience, the 32GB of storage I have on my One X is more than enough. How many movies can you watch in one day that you need so much storage space? Do you really need 32GB or more worth of music on your phone? Once again, it's the business decisions. Why release only a One S on US T-Mobile? Why not a One X on every carrier? That's the reason why HTC's been doing poorly. People wanted choice, HTC didn't give it to them. You want the One X? Go to AT&T.
Performance wise, HTC One X is pretty good on ICS sense 4. It was slower than SGS3, but later made up with sense 4.1 which made it on par with SGS3. (I've tried it, and it's true). HTC doesn't have to do that with their One X until JB 4.1.1 release, but yet they did.
There's many things they could've done to put themselves at the top but they didn't. That's their only failure. Other than the defects that they'll gladly replace, HTC product are great.

You said everything from the bottom of my heart .
20. altarius88 (Posts: 4; Member since: 12 Nov 2012)
only in appearance their designs are better than samsung but software and features arent equall in my opinon.... if samsung let htc build their phones deisgns that would be the ultimate phone
2. mercorp (Posts: 967; Member since: 28 Jan 2012)
Bring this monster on.
Htc will redeem itself!
3. ryq24 (Posts: 479; Member since: 17 Oct 2011)
and still no micro sd card slot! htc should learn a thing or two from samsung.

54. darkskoliro (Posts: 953; Member since: 07 May 2012)
no need to hate on samsung, but i dislike their product builds as well. and their followers.
41. OptimusOne (Posts: 694; Member since: 22 May 2012)
HTC One X+ has 64 gb of storage! is a microsd card still necessary. add to the fact that microsd card read/write speed is slower that flash read/write speed.
therefore movies would be faster, pretty much anything would be faster.
49. bayusuputra (Posts: 941; Member since: 12 Feb 2012)
hell, even if that's not enough, HTC One X+ now supports USB OTG out of the box.. Even all of my friends/colleagues who have bought the SGS3 now tell me that they regret buying one after I told them about the HOX+..
56. thelegend6657 (unregistered)
The HOX= is a fantastic device . But people still think the GS3 is better because it has a samsung badge on it .
That sucks ! People are not buying phones , people are buying the brand .
61. Raymond_htc (Posts: 430; Member since: 06 Apr 2012)
Well these folks just looked for the benchmark..
One advice for them- Benchmark isn't everything.
64. thelegend6657 (unregistered)
But HTC One X nailed the GS3 in benchmarks after the sense 4.1 update
47. gwuhua1984 (Posts: 1237; Member since: 06 Mar 2012)
That's what I used to think about phones without sd card slot. I don't think sd card slot is really a must now if the phone already carries enough storage.
9. neutralguy (Posts: 1152; Member since: 30 Apr 2012)
seeing people's comment saying how they love this phone and when galaxy s IV is released, it would be again overshadowed.
Just like what happened to ativ s. When it was announce, people are like, this would be my WP8, and now, they rarely mention the phone. Same thing happened to one x.
11. XPERIA-KNIGHT (Posts: 2384; Member since: 08 Aug 2012)
A portion of the world is not the entire world.........
12. takay0 (Posts: 144; Member since: 25 Mar 2012)
my phone right now is HTC sensation... all the phone allready really good! i dont need to buy a new one all the time... i didnt wanted one x.. but now i want this phone... but you right.. its seems like they switch phone every month! 8x, one x+ really good phone that can deal with anything we need in a phone right now.
16. tigermcm (Posts: 690; Member since: 02 Sep 2009)
maybe because samsung itself doesnt even talk about the ativ s. if they push it out and have us ooooo and ahhhh like the above consistently they will have our attn. samsung had us ooo and ahh for like a few days with the ativ S.
10. takay0 (Posts: 144; Member since: 25 Mar 2012)
is it just me or it seems like in the 2nd pic the screen and the back can disconnect with no lab so there will be a removable baterry or even an sd-card slot inside?
13. twens (Posts: 541; Member since: 25 Feb 2012)
Design is the best on any phablet I have seen. But here lies the real issue.buying a 5 inch phone means you want more from the phone.and that's where Samsung murders the competition with software.to me the bigger a screen on a phone the more multimedia task the phone should be able to accomplish. I can't have a big fon with s2 and iPhone 5 like features. Samsung knows this that's why the note 2 roles.its not just big but its bad ass
14. XPERIA-KNIGHT (Posts: 2384; Member since: 08 Aug 2012)
true but i guess this is where our opinions differ......Id rather an amazing looking phone with a solid build and "good" software over a phone that just has amazing software but bad build and not so good looks plus a screen that cant compare to an HTC.....
Mansion or a 4 bedroom house?
62. Raymond_htc (Posts: 430; Member since: 06 Apr 2012)
Totally agreee with you. HTC phones may be a bit more expensive.. but when you get it, you won't regret it. Great build quality, and very good software that is very stable.. and sense is beautiful... Touchwhiz? meh. Note 2 and S3- cheapy build quality and not too stable software- even LG is getting better- one example is the Nexus 4, Optimus 4X HD and Optimus G.
A Ferrari which crashes easily or a comfy and well built rolls royce limousine with a powerful engine?
18. winddroid (Posts: 13; Member since: 13 Oct 2012)
I don't think this is any more of a phablet than the GSIII or One X. This is a smartphone. Dimensions of J Butterfly are about the same as the One X. Note 2 is considerably bigger.
21. altarius88 (Posts: 4; Member since: 12 Nov 2012)
best looking phone i seen yet...... still dont doesnt compete with the features of samsung note 2 though the split screen multi-tasking is untouchable right now
23. amiroo (Posts: 269; Member since: 03 Sep 2012)
woww finaly htc do it..tnx alot HTC..im very happy for this..
