You heard that right people! The software update for Ice Cream Sandwich is apparently being rolled out to XOOM Wi-Fi units as we speak, bringing some much needed life to this pioneer in the Android landscape. Even though the XOOM never rocketed to stardom...

This is good news, moto is working from the lowest common denominator. If it works on the Xoom then all their devices with Xoom specs and higher easily fall into ICS territory. That was a quick turn around for motorola in getting ICS out on their devices. Next up Razr and the rest of the funky bunch of Moto phones.

Motorola is asking for sign ups for the Photon 4g looking for beta testers again. I signed up over at the Motorola forums. Even tho most of the time its improvements for the phone, I strongly believe its a ICS beta test. Its getting to close for ICS updates to start going main stream from manufactures and carriers. Signed up and if any news I will update. If you have a Motorola device you can sign up using any of their devices. It will keep you in the testing system until they start pushing of betas.

Xoom never had issues with WiFi and GPS issues. May be heavy and the screen is just okey, but the device as a whole rocks. And rocking Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich.
