Helio launches

Helio, a MVNO virtual carrier, targeted at high-end consumers, who seek multimedia content has officially launched. 
The carrier starts with two mobile phones – the Hero ($275), which is a black slider phone, manufactured by Pantech, and Kickflip ($250), which is swivel that can open in both right and left directions, manufactured by VK Mobile. Both phones features 2.2 inches 262k color display, 2-megapixel camera, EV-DO high-speed data, music players with stereo speakers, and microSD slots for memory expansion.

Helio has reached agreements with Yahoo and MySpace for richer internet experience that includes fast searching and browsing of the internet, posting pictures directly to MySpace, writing blogs, etc. 3D games can be downloaded for $6, and EA Games is one of Helio's featured partners, which means that it will offer rich game content. Videos can be streamed or downloaded from channels like Fox Sports, MTV and VH1.

The initial plans offered are the all-inclusive ones (unlimited data, SMS, MMS, nights and weekends, long distance and roaming) starting from $85 for 1,000 minutes, $100 for 1,500 and $135 for 2,500 and A La Carte plans for $40 which gives you 500 anytimes minutes plus pay-as-you-use multimedia services.
