Helio Ocean 2 on sale now

The Helio Ocean 2 is now on sale at the Virgin Mobile web site. While the sequel doesn't live up to the original in terms of unique applications, the Ocean 2 still has plenty of features. Multimedia is a focus of this device and while a YouTube app doesn't seem unique these days, the one on this handset will also allow you to record video and upload it to the video web site straight from the phone. Running on 3G speed, the unit also is equipped with an HTML browser, direct access to social networking sites like MySpace and offers GPS through Garmin Mobile. The Helio Ocean 2 has a MSRP of $400. With a $101 discount for ordering online, and a $150 haircut for signing a new two-year contract, the Helio Ocean 2 could run as low as $149 for new Virgin Mobile customers.

That phone looks big and bulky. Its much bigger than the Ocean 1, and its even bigger than the iPhone! I would buy the Ocean 1 before this ugly phone.
