VZW is assigning what's called device geniuses for the Nexus. Meaning this Thursday is more than likely the launch date. About elfing time.

haha! that's great!!! i can't wait for it to change though. im with Sprint and my contract isn't up for a few months, and even i'm waiting to breathe that sigh of relief when it finally does lol

It's going to cost me $180.00 dollars to break my contract with Sprint. I just what to know that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is coming out on Dec. 15 because I really want to take advantage of the double data that Verizon Wireless is giving.
Their $30.00 2GB plan is now 4GB if you activate a phone before Jan. I hate to leave Sprint's unlimited plan, but I went over 4GB only once. Now that I use Wi-Fi at home, 4GB is more than reasonable for me.
Now if the Samsung Galaxy Nexus would just come out, I really want to avoid getting a Droid Bionic & then pay full price for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Just so I can take advantage of Verizon's double data promotion. lol

What you could do is buy a RAZR or Bionic and then return it by January 15th since Verizon extended the return period.
You would have to pay $35 restocking fee but it would be worth it if that's what you have to do to get the double data.

iamcc thank you so much. You know, I never thought about that. You are a HUGE life saver. Without you I would have NEVER even thought of that.
Man if you were right here I would give you a high five! I am going to do exactly what you say.
Hey man thanks a lot! You are the man!!!

Be careful. You might decide to keep the RAZR. :)

the minimum fee is $35, depending on the condition of the device and box the restocking will increase.
I charge a guy $205 restocking fee on the Razr, because the phone had some scratches and the box was dirty

I promise I will take good care of the Motorola Droid Bionic & it's box. It will be like new. Good looking out!

Verizon, Google or Samsung to blame for delaying the release people are sick and tire of this delayed some people are buying different phone already. They must learn from Apple if you wanted to be a good copycat "do not the spread the news if your product is not ready and stock in the stores".

Meanwhile, my country is releasing the GN later today (in Androidland)!

Tech News Today reported yesterday that some Best buys and other stores were already selling them.
I'm thinking they had something in writing saying they could sell by a certain date or something and Verizon pushed back the date again and they figured they had the phones already and no reason to hold back so...
This release has really made me feel upset with Verizon the carrier I have bragged about for so many years. I wish Verizon had never gotten it they are ruining the enjoyment of getting this phone... and I'm not at all sure that is not exactly what they are trying to do.
7. iamcc (Posts: 1319; Member since: 07 Oct 2011)
Verizon isn't screwing this up because they have never really released an official release date.
I'm frustrated too. I dropped my Thunderbolt two weeks ago and have been dealing with a broken screen since... as of today the phone won't even charge anymore.
But i'm not mad at Verizon... they did nothing wrong here. If anything you can be mad at Google/Samsung for saying November release (which still is arguable considering the phone was released in some places in November) or you can be mad at yourself for reading into all the rumors.
Again, i'm extremely frustrated too but it's not Verizon's fault.

We don't know who to be mad at because we have no idea what Verizon, Google and Samsung have said to each other. It could very well be that Verizon told Google to announce the early release dates, assuring them that they would get it out on time.
Just because Verizon hasn't told us anything doesn't mean they're not at fault. It's all up in the air.

LMAO!! you guys are great!! with your "it isn't Verizon's fault because they never released a official date"..THAT'S THE PROBLEM!! we know ZERO about a phone that should be a contender for biggest phone of the year! and how did Verizon do nothing wrong?? they have a phone in stores and it is just sitting there with no explanation as to why. i posted this in another topic but i'll do it here again..i and most other people would rather have a date and have it get pushed back with a GOOD excuse as to why than to be left in the dark and know nothing only to have rumor after rumor hit us form sites like this and have them all fall through and date after date after date fly by with no phone and zero input from the carrier on why it isn't out yet!!
everyone is to blame here my friend EVERYONE! Verizon first and foremost then Samsung then Google if i was a CEO at Samsung i would be super pi$$ed that this phone didn't launch at black Friday. any and all issues should have been worked out between carrier and manufacturer BEFORE any contracts were inked. and if it is a bug in hardware.(which it is not!!) they had to have a version to test for months now,the same phone minus the lte radio has been in Europe for a month! so they got the phone on Nov 14 th and did no testing and released the phone on the 17th..come on man! Google and Samsung said it would be out in November and that did happen but there is no reason for this phone to be out in all the places that it is now and not be out here without Verizon having EVERYTHING to do with it!

Geek rage! Occupy Basking Ridge protests! Riots in the Best Buy!
Or possibly just continued sales of Razrs, Rezounds and *gasp* iPhones.

There was one like this for the iOS 5 release too. I think it was called "isios5outyet.com" or something like that.

If not for the fact that this is a supposed "nexus" device, I would've said f*ck it a couple weeks ago.
I think they know that the phone is special and many people who are anticipating it want it for that exact reason. And they know they can abuse us and dangle an imaginary carrot in front of our noses because we'll still get the stupid phone anyway.
So sick of this. I want to force whoever is responsible for these delays to use the s**tty phone I've been stuck with because they can't get their sh*t together. (and YES, they are delays. I don't care if Verizon never "officially" gave a release date.)
All along I've suspected that they will wait to release this phone until the double data deal is discontinued.

Was just at BB in NY Columbus Circle. I saw their closet with a stack of GN's and held the it in my hands. Man it's a nice phone. If the Razr had unlockable bootloader and wasn't so awkwardly wide (at least to my hands), it would definitely be in the running. But I digress... they've wised up and all the wireless employees know they cannot sell it until Verizon sends the ok to them. The few people who were lucky enough to get one before they locked down the sales have a few days head start with the phone. Any day now...

I work at RadioShack and we just received one. However our instructions are to not sell until further instructions.
I really really want one

I live in El Paso, TX and our Best Buy at Sunland Park on the Westside checked their manifest for me earlier today and definitively said they have no Galaxy Nexus phones in stock, nor are there any coming in tonight so they don't know how they can be selling the G-Nex if they don't even have the phones to begin with.
Our El Paso Costco Store phone manager said he did indeed have the phones in stock, but have not yet received the go-ahead to sell them...To Be Continued...
