I hope this phone turns out to be a nice phone. Every preview I have read of this phone has been mostly negative. I hate to say it, but it does seem like a step back from the Droid. I don't think VZW or Moto ever intended for this phone to replace the droid, but when there aren't a lot of phones coming out for VZW, why launch something that takes somewhat of a step back?

I think it will have its place in the lineup. The phone is pretty solid, the body is aluminum not plastic. Motoblur is a good interface for people who do a lot of social networking and messaging of different types. The overall impression everybody had was pretty good, a couple of us even considered it over the Droid, the keyboard is nicer and it has a nice feel in your hand.

This phone was made for people that want ( some of the droid features) at a lower price point. Its not a step back. You can't please anyone thease days. Not everyone can afford $299.99 upfront or even $199* online.

Why's it so big? Its the same size as the Droid only with quite a bit less features. And the Droid is partly so big because it has a huge screen. This phone should be smaller.
