I'm in Verizon and I kind of agree with the apple users. The same thing happened with the Voyager last year when everyone sadi that it was going to kill the iphone. Everyone is doing the same thing with the Dare now. The dare does have some cool features, but overall the iphone is kind of better. One of the reasons is that its customizeable, you can put any apps you want. i always tried hacking into my voyager for games and apps, but witht eh iphone (especially with the apple store) you can do that. And I'm use to the UI on my Voyager, but that doesn't mean that doesn't mean its superior. Same with texting. I hardly make any mistakes but texting full qwerty on the voyager is still annoying. I kind of hate it when people say that *you have to adjust to the touch screen.* But I don't want to adjust, I want a touch screen thats easy to use. I don't want one that I have to *learn* how to use. And I'm so sure that if the iphone was on Verizon, no one would even consider the Dare. So many people say that they like the iphone but don't want to move to sucky AT&T. If the iphone was on Verizon before the Voyager, I probably wouldn't have looked twice at the Voyager.

It's not going to be available in the stores until July 3rd. You could buy it online and it should get you by Tuesday.

Got it by FedEX yesterday and been playing with it ever since. Takes a little while to get used to the touchscreen, but it is an awesome phone for Verizon.

AMAZING phone so far. but a couple CONs i thought should be mentioned. -The headphone jack is covered by this small detachable plug/cover. So if you got ur headphones plugged in make sure you dont lose the cover. -Camera is slow. Takes about a full 2 seconds to focus on the half click and a minor delay on full click.

For everyone that has the dare is the screen squishy and pressure sensed plastic like the voyager, or like the glyde heat sensed and hard but still plastic or like the iphone heat sensed and glass?????????

109. The Zune Lune posted on 29 Jun 2008, 19:41

It is not like the Glyde, but not squishy like the Voyager, either. It has a good, solid feel.

Fedex delivers on saturdays, I work for them. The ordering party has to request is.

the reason why you have to change to nationwide is cause all other plans takes from your min when on the internet, so if you didn't have a data plan you'd get major overages on min, with nationwide data and min and bill seprately

Has anybody used the calendar for the Dare yet. I have a Q, hate it, but do like to be able to use the calendar. Is there a calander app that you will be able to load if the Dare "stock" calander isn't that good.

133. (unregistered) posted on 02 Jul 2008, 00:45

The calendar function on the Dare is...functional. Its easy to use, but also pretty basic in terms of features. I'm coming from windows mobile though and this is my first verizon phone, so i don't know how it relates to previous phones. We'll have to wait and see about future apps available for the phone.

I just ordered the dare and I'm really excited but for all the people that say its going to be the iPhone killer I'm not so sure bout that because if we could get the iPhone we All would because this is a "copy" of the iPhone-aka iPhone killer-but its just because all of us veriOn users can't get our hands on an iPhone but its truly a great phone and that's why all companies are making a copy but seriously I'm not sure the iPhone will be beat for a while now and I love the dare and I'm really excited but I think its going to be more competitive to the vu and instinct which isn't bad. I think the dares going to be a great phone(why I ordered it) but we all know it can't keep up with apples iPhone but they both have their flaws and im sure the dare will shine in some areas but the iPhone will continue to be a popular great selling phone

123. (unregistered) posted on 30 Jun 2008, 20:42

when i go online (the web browser) i go to hotmail.com (to check my e-mail) i enter my username and password, and it won't let me sign in, because i need to enable cookies..... thats what it says ........ how do i enable them?? someone try it out and help me ....

129. (unregistered) posted on 01 Jul 2008, 12:56

I think they do it on purpose. You have to get the email app... I think it's 5 bucks a month. Then again, I could be wrong

155. (unregistered) posted on 14 Aug 2008, 21:00

i got the same msg for hotmail. i was so upset, and i was really starting to think it was a scheme to get my 5 bucks/month more. to access hotmail, do not try to enter the web address on thewww. screen. instead, hit the web browser icon. it will take you to the VZW screen. click on #2 email. then you will have a choice of different emails (ie: yahoo, gmail, aol), for hotmail, click on #2 windows live. then you sign in with your username and pw. so far, i can only read new emails and send new emails (but not reply or delete). this serves me fine for when i might be waiting for some important email. i don't know if verizon is going to charge me for this service. it doesnt look like they will. if they end up charging me 5 bucks on my next bill, i will post an update to my comment. good luck. i hope this works for you.
