I am sick of people say Lg was making touch phones like the prada before the iphone yea they were but we are in american not over there so we didnt get them. but still tthe iphone is better than the dare because of the touch screen and it interface is much easyer to use.

I just bought my Dare and I'm hopefully getting it either on Friday or Monday. I love it! I wanted to buy the new iPhone 3G, but then I was heartbroken that I had to switch to stupid AT&T XP. so I stuck with Verizon.... dude, I love your post. but I don't think Verizon turned down the iphone. and if they did, they most likely turned it down because Verizon is a CMDA network and AT&T is GSM. CMDA and GSM are two different technologies. the iPhone is made for GSM. If Verizon Wireless wanted to hop on the iPhone wagon, apple would have to reconstruct the phone to make it CMDA compatible. ...I'm pretty sure that information is correct. lol I've done a lot of research on the two phones. I can't really find any flaws in the Dare....I've found a few in the iPhone...but I don't own the iPhone. my friend does, I've played with it a little, but I really can't say if it's better than the Dare because I don't have the Dare in my hands. But I will be testing both tomorrow....so yeah :D

What's the deal with wanting the phone on Saturday? Obviously all of you who are SO excited about this phone is because you've never had a good or advance phone. I feel bad for you but I understand your exciment. All of you waiting to get the phone, once you get it don't forget to write back about the bad things about it.

The only thing I like about this phone is the customization on the main screen/menus and also the camera. Other than that the actual phone itself look pretty cheap. Toy-like.

can someone who has the phone already tell me with how much internal memory it comes?
73. (unregistered) posted on 28 Jun 2008, 16:10 0 0
about 147.7 MB. about 28.9 is used for operating system and 118.8 is free. Also it give you about 120 MB for internal music.

what about people that have the family plan, how much will it change?
75. (unregistered) posted on 28 Jun 2008, 18:28 0 0
nothing changes as far as features or cost go. there is not a required data package or anything btu all the phones come with a free month trial of teh vcast and vz navigator as of right now

you must, however, be on the new nationwide calling plans. so if you have an ancient plan then u will be forced to change... :(

In re: the change to the nationwide plans. I bought a Dare from a fast talking salesman vzw rep, and he assured me over and over I wouldn't have to change my plan. He said that the total cost I would have for surfing the net and checking my eBay auctions would be $15.00 extra per month. About a month ago I inquired at the vzw store and they said I would have to change to a nationwide plan to use the Voyager. Could you comment on EXACTLY why this is required. Is is Hardware, software, just a policy to make us cough up more $ each month. Their pitch was I'd get more minutes, but heck I only use 150-200 mins/month as it is. Do I absolutely positively have to have a nationwide plan to use the dare? What is it about the phone that requires it? If I have to change plans, then my net cost will be not $15 but $25 as the new plan adds $10 to the monthly fee. Thanks for anyone shedding light on this.

currently, the only phones that REQUIRE the change to the nationwide plans are the voyager, glyde, and dare. the reason as far as i know is because these are the only phones that offer a full html browser (disregarding the smartphones). so that would be my idea as to what in particular requires the change for activation. now why it needs to change? no idea. more data requirements maybe for teh full html vs. the mobile web? at this point im just thinking outloud.

not true, we have a family plan, im a 17 year old and that means that my name is obviously not primary holders number., and i upgraded my phone to the dare, then again we have the nationwide family plan, and we've had for 5 years and have never changed it.

Do you mean you have a family plan? If so the thing is that its not more expensive even if it says its $10 more... The thing is that the new Family Plans include the second line with the price the old ones dont so you may think its more expensive when in reality its the same price.

Unless the Voyager has an update or the review of this phone is bad (for some reason) i'm getting it. Though a lack of physical keys will be missed. Though I wonder how you could do some of Verizon's games... But the accelerometer has a LOT of potential for being a super useful feature. though I did hear of the Voyager (Refresh) in the Visual Voicemail rollout for VZW.

i heard that the refresh would just be a voyager in a different color

In the Northeast Region of VZW you will get Saturday delivery service from Fedex ... free of charge. This applies to NY Metro and NE Philly areas.

I have a text and video review up on my website. It is all too long to post here. I wanted to show more sub-menus for the people who do not have their Dare yet and are interested. I recently ordered the dare on friday and I was just wondering for the people that already have it is the touch screen like the voyager[squishy and pressure sensed], like the glyde[heat sensed but still plastic], or like the iphone[heat sensed and glass]

It's amazing how defensive all of you I-phone users get when you see this phone. When will you realize a lot of people do not like or want to use apple products, yes that's including your precious I-phone. So go eat your apple and stop trying to force Jobbs down everyones throat.
