0. phoneArena 03 Mar 2014, 00:26 posted on
On Sunday, we showed you a video of The All New HTC One that was filmed February 19th, and posted on social media Sunday by a kid named Roshan Jamkatel. During the video, the kid says that the phone is not yet available, and does everything he can to cover up the device's unique IMEI number posted on the back of the device...

problem is kid did a leak on a dev p type unit it went out around the world people seen it and then on the video it had crash and lag problems and camera did not work correctly that bad pub. if it was a set up the phone would work, it does not matter the world that wanted the one will get this phone thanks to the kid saying yes its got sd card and thats what hurt the htc one last year

That's horrible he could've just sent a direct message to the kid. I'm not even that excited anymore we pretty much know all there is to know about the phone already. Or this may just be publicity stunt idk but either way it's not good marketing HTC.

HTC makes the design of their latest flagship smartphone which makes HTC One's design look horrible, it being worse, and they make fun of the S5's design. How very ironis, HTC.

hey tas think of this apple is trying to hire the design people from htc so what you think is bad the world thinks is amazing, like i hate apple i will never own anything from them but the rest of the world does even with all its faults

Anyway the video was boring. Yawn. He could have edited some parts.

"We'll be in touch," said in a way that probably required the kid to change his shorts.
haha Alan, u made me laugh :)

You guy that blame HTC are too funny. The kid did not magically want to HTC and stole it or HTC gave it to him. The prototype was one of his parent. The parent was a tester and the kid take it from his parent, his parent lost their job I am guessing.

He should have just put a posted note over the back to hide the codes & everything would have been OK, now he or his parents are in real trouble.

I can't side with the kid here, he made it too easy to trace back to himself, and what he was doing was illegal. HTC definitely needs to improve it's security as well, but I would guess that the kid (or whoever gave him the phone) is legally at fault here.
At least he can say he one-upped the 8 minute Nexus 5 leak last year.

One of his parents or something must be a developer for HTC. This kid is just dumb, he barely even tried to hide all the information on the device. You can clearly see the IMEI, he linked to his own twitter profile, and we saw his face.

Don't blame the kid if you can't properly keep your own products a secret. That was pathetic and frankly very childish.

so if your kid went out a killed cats for fun and broke into cars we should not blame the kid we should have you arrested and locked in jail thats what you are saying, every person in this world needs to be held accountable for what they did he is a high schooler that stole something and did what he know was illegal

I'm really curious to know where I said something like that... could you point that out?

If this is IPX58/68 Certified this would surely fire up the competition.

All you blaming HTC are just dumb. HTC should have better security, HTC should control their leaks better, blah, blah, blah. This kid new what he did was wrong and illegal yet he did it anyway. He posted the video, he took the action he knew was wrong, therefore he (or if a minor, his parents as well) need to take responsibility for HIS actions. Too many people in this world want to blame others for their own stupid mistakes.

Damn right, I hope his dad loses his job then the kid has to support the family as a rent boy.
52. tmcr7 (Posts: 148; Member since: 02 Nov 2011)
This is nothing but a publicity stunt aimed to make the tech news and take some attention from the Galaxy S5.

That kid's a would-be phone reviewer? Please, no one could watch his videos...
73. docj8404 (Posts: 72; Member since: 23 Jan 2013)
This "review" was absolutely nothing short of cringe worthy.
74. Dadler22 (Posts: 161; Member since: 11 Dec 2008)
I mean technically it wont be a good week for him when his dad loses his job anyways, so it is none-the-less a true statement.

Let's take away the physical buttons, and still block that space with our giant HTC logo :D. Brb looking at Oppo.

HTC needs to back off and relax.if anything this kid is helping build up hype for the phone. Nobody is being hurt in any way.
