HTC will appeal the ITC ruling that it infringes on two Apple patents, final verdict expected by December 6th

HTC won't sit still and only try to negotiate with Apple the ruling, but will be actively appealing, buoyed by its acquisition of S3 Graphics as a patent play. Final determination can be expected by 12/6

Really, Apple? What the hell was so hard about finding a licensing agreement like EVERY SINGLE OTHER MAJOR TECH COMPANY?
People ask why everyone hates Apple's business practices. I think immediately seeking a ban on sales of anything that infringes patents without even considering doing what any normal, reasonable company would do is a pretty damn good reason.

Actually I am pretty sure samsung shot the first "banned" shot across the bow @ ITC vs Apple.
Don't know why its hardly reported... no seriously if you google "apple infringes 2 patents", its nothing but the HTC ruling.
but Apple has been found by the same group (ITC) to be infringing on 2 of HTCs patents (actually s3's earlier this month). HTC bought s3 just for the patents, which is a bit weak in a moral sense but makes sense in a business view.

HTC should appeal. It is their legal right. They beat 8 of the 10 charges Apple tossed at them, and it only makes sense to play out the legal aspect.
If they win on appeal, Apple has to deal with the S3 violations. In the grand scheme of things, I hope it is just a slap on the wrist, one time payment. HTC didn't develop the tech. My bet is they don't even use it. It is just a legal sheild to hide behind if they lose to Apple. If they lose on Appeal, at least they are not at the mercy of Apple and they legal system.

ITC already ruled iOS devices are not infringing on S3 patents. Only some Macs which tips things in Apple's favor. Hopefully HTC has to pay up for the infringement.

What Taco posted is true. I don't know why he got thumbed down. I guess it no longer matters whether you are right or wrong. You just get automatically thumbed down for favoring Apple.
PA needs to update this article. Those S3 patents only affected SOME macbooks PARTIALLY, and does not affect iOS devices at all. Turns out that some licenses for iOS devices' components already covered those S3 technologies, giving them the rights to use those technologies.

Yes HTC, fight back so you can go back to infringing on Apple's patents and making subpar handsets. Keep doing so. Maybe this'll even slap some "Sense" into you.
