HTC wants you to have a phone for your smartphone

You know what's really annoying? Having to use your smartphone as an actual phone. That really takes valuable time away from surfing the web, checking through various social networks, and of course playing games. Sure, you could use a Bluetooth headset, but HTC has a better idea: why not have a phone for your smartphone?...

"That's right, this thing doesn't even work with HTC's flagship One." You are WRONG!! I just checked and got a system update to 2.24.401.9 (31.0 MB) on my international HTC One and it adds support for HTC Mini+ among other things.
The HTC One is still the best smartphone of 2013. Period.

No smartphone stays at the top forever. Yet, the One has retained its crown for the most part of 2013.
It is simply impossible in 2013 for any other smartphones to beat the One's very high quality front-facing stereo speakers and the industry-leading SLCD3 with 469 PPI. Newer devices will only get a specs bump, which doesn't matter as the Snapdragon 600 still holds really well against any app/game you throw at it.

Did i forget to mention the unique first-of-its-kind aluminium unibody with zero-gap technology?

Htc one is the top smartphone?? How come??
Sales--GS4>> htc one
Benchmarks--GS4>>htc one(this includes other hardware too)
these are the only facts with proof..everything else is based on personal opinion..like design,screen,etc..
so yeah..htc never had the crown...cant say about the future..

ur right lesson at this
sales gs4>>one ''gud for samy cuz i feel i own one''limited ed
benchmarks gs4>>one ''actual usage one ''try it ur self
these are only facts with poof
others based on persnal
like having more light and wide cam over more migapixle
or having dual front instead one
or even plastic or metal
and over saturation or less screen
having a bazel or less bazel etc
htc will die or not i dont care cuz im device loyal over brand

Well good for u that u feel special having a device which sold less...in that case may b u can buy some flop product..u ll feel even better..
i have owned both..currently using s4 as my primary device..i agree that htc ui is smoother but thats it..its slower than gs4 at doing everything else...from launching apps to lag in games..and it shows in real life..
secondly, ultrapixel thingy was an epic failure..u cant even compare htc one's camera with that of GS4's..go see for urself instead of just reading stuff online and then make up ur mind..
Having plastic or metal is a personal preference..a lot of ppl hate how easily u can put a dent on metal phones...add to that htc's poor quality control..newer devices still have gaps in the unibody..
now about screen..like i said earlier..its personal preference..some ppl like lcd's while others like amoled..and btw go check some of the screen reviews..gs4 screen has the most accurate colors along with iphone 5 in movie screen mode..

2013: a phone for my smartphone
2014: a phone for my phone's smartphone
2015: a phone for my phone's phone smartphone.
2020: I have 8 phones just to assist my smartphone. Should such a phone assisted with 8 phones to be functional still deserve to be called 'smartphone'? No, I think it should be called 'dumbphone'. HTC, thanks but no thanks

Too stupid for jokes. Things like this will lead to HTC going under or being sold off.

I really like the idea behind this "remote control". One possible usage that comes to mind is to use the HTC One together with a projector. For example, you can connect the One to your projector instead of using another device like, PC/laptop/tablet and then use the HTC Mini+ to control a PowerPoint presentation or show a movie.
As usual, HTC leads with innovation. Well done!

what? "HTC has just announced the HTC Mini+, which is a Bluetooth phone for your phone" it is only for calls nothing else, where is the innovation here? I still have not seen innovation, except for the moto X so far, they brought a couple of things that didnt require a spec bump. Touchless control, Active Notification, Moto Connect, answer sms from your pc, very useful, Moto Assist works great too.

Apparently the cost is £50 and not $50 as stated in the article.

This is just plain solid stupid!
The next thing i know, the phone for my smartphone will be 'smart' soon enough.
HTC, have you got no better move?

Is XZibit the new HTC Spokesman?
Yo Dawg we heard you like cell phones, so we got you a cell phone for your cell phone so you can call from a cell phone while you surf on your cell phone.

HTC want what? Another gimmick, extra expenses!!! Why not update first their phones!? Another excuses to forget the update.
14. gazmatic (Posts: 795; Member since: 06 Sep 2012)
what the blue fuq
I swear android is full of gimmicks
first they want you to flick your wrist like a sissy to launch the camera instead of having a dedicated camera button then they made humongous phablets that look silly against your head. now they want me to buy an extra phone to do something that the original phone was supposed to do
is it that much of a hassle to stop surfing the web or playing candy crush just to answer a call or reply to a text?

This has nothing to do with Android.
