SH!TOROLA along with CRAPSUNG are talksh!ts.. trust me..

The HTC Desire HD will be getting ICS soon while the Crapsung Galaxy S and SH!TOROLA Atrix which came out about the same time as the Desire HD are NOT getting it.

Ridiculous right?

I have yet to see a Samsung that didn't have a bootloader that was either unlocked or easily unlocked.

Samsung has its faults, but not being open isn't one of them.

So far, HTC seems to be fairly good at updating their devices in a reasonable amount of time. Samsung's Galaxy S devices are just seeing Android 2.3 while Motorola is only talking about updating their devices to ICS. I see the only Samsung devices to get official ICS before the next version of Android comes out are the Galaxy Nexus (which obviously already has ICS) and the Nexus S (which is almost the same as the Galaxy S only without TouchWiz on it). I think that Samsung and Motorola need to learn form HTC and focus on quality over quantity and work on bringing their devices up-to-date.
