They need better cpus/gpus, my wife's Evo 3d is just weak and when playing certain games the graphics look like s**t, or the game lags. That's why I got the Photon, I play alot of games and want a device that doesn't need an excuse to why I have to wait to get games .

Tegra3 is pretty good, but it is not up to the gpu in the A5. Qualcomm's Krait is looking pretty good, but won't be out for awhile. I hope they still use them because they deliver better battery life due to their full integration of phone and CPU functions on one chip.

1) You do know that those 2 phones are practically the same thing in different shells right? Take away the "3D" and they're almost identical

2) I agree we need better CPU/GPU, but we also need to make higher resolution displays first (as always)

@fanesxx Just so you're aware, these quad-core phones are more power efficient than dual-core and way more efficient than single core phones.
From what I've read this may or may not actually be a Hex-core release in which you have 4 cores running at 1.3ghz or whatever speed it ends up being with the addition of the fifth core running at a much slower 500mhz. This slower core does not use nearly as much power and can easily hadle running the OS while it's idle and also capable at rendering basic web pages without the need for utilizing the other four cores. However your phone will be blazing fast when rendering games and or applications that tax the single proccessor enough to allow the Android OS to start using the other four cores.
If I wasn't so happy with my Samsung Galaxy Nexus at the moment I would be waiting in line for one of these right now. Though if these new 4/5 core phones hit the market with a newer version of Android 4.0 or higher I might be making the swap. :)
