HTC has verbally confirmed that it has Android 2.0 (Eclair) handsets in the works which could be the Droid Eris or the HTC Passion for Verizon...

I thought donut was 1.5, Cupcake was 1.6, and eclair was 2.0... Am i mistaken.

I believe it goes 1.5 is cupcake, 1.6 is donut, and 2.0 will now be eclair

We apologize for the mistake. Android 2.0 is indeed "Eclair", while version 1.6 is "Donut". It's just that our brains stop responding sometimes when we eat too much sweets.
