HTC revenue down 17% in January versus last year
High Tech Computer, better known as HTC, has revealed that revenue was down 16.8% in January versus the same period last year. They posted a revenue of NT$10.01 billion ($297 million) in January which was down 26.3% from the previous month. For the fourth quarter of 2008, they accumulated total revenue of NT$47.4 billion which is up 21.4% on the year. They came close to hitting their projected amount for Q4 2008, but missed it by only NT$0.6 billion. Just with other companies, they are trying to fend off the volatile global economy and feeling optimistic for the rest of 2009. They plan on having single digit growth during Q1 of 2009 while forecasting a rebound in Q2. During that period, HTC expects a myriad of new product releases into the market that will drive better than expected double digit growth.
