HTC reveals its Gingerbread plans, set to release "some phones"
We already told you that the HTC EVO 4G was the first of a few phones that unofficially received some Gingerbread love thanks to the helpful Android developers at XDA-Devs. Now we have an official information from HTC on the company's future plans. It says:

“We are excited about the OS update coming for Android, and while HTC will definitely have some phones running this OS, we do not have a specific timeframe for new phones or updates at this time. Please stay tuned for more details.”

It's important to note that this is an official information and these days the big smartphone makers rarely bother to speak their minds. That said, it's still refreshing that the Taiwan manufacturer is promising some HTC-branded Gingerbread-running phones as well as Android 2.3 updates coming for its existing line-up of Android phones. It would be great if we start seeing these phones and updates soon, hopefully beginning with the launch of the HTC Knight (rumoured to be on January 6 during CES), although this looks unlikely.
