HTC releases the source code of the DROID DNA
Developers who would like to tinker with the software of the DROID DNA can now easily do so, as HTC has released the source code of its monstrous smartphone.

Naturally, the source code is based on Android 4.1, and should prove to be pretty useful for custom ROM developers. The code can be downloaded from HTC's own HTCDev site, which can be found as a source link below this post.

The DROID DNA is one of the best Android phones money can buy right now, being equipped with spectacular features such as a powerful quad-core processor, the Snapdragon S4 Pro, as well as an ultra-high resolution display at 1080 x 1920 pixels.

Although, it is essential, source code alone isnt going to help for development. They have bootloader lock (although unlocked), the S-ON.., lacked for micro-SD and sub-battery...

All this have killed their product...let them continue the same way, in 2 years time HTC will be a history or go back to roots of making phones for other companies...

You know they are on the cusp of achieving S-OFF right? Also to unlock the HTC Droid DNA is a simple thing to do. I already have the HTC Droid DNA rooted & I am patiently waiting for the first AOSP ROM's to come out already.

Also S-ON is a nuisance BUT not a deal breaker, here is some info to help you understand S-ON & S-OFF. It really is not that BIG of a deal. LINK:

This might have been a problem 3 years ago but the root community has grown & can handle these issues with no problem.
