HTC may release a Windows RT tablet in 2013

0. phoneArena posted on 20 Dec 2012, 21:04

HTC doesn't have a great history with tablets, but that doesn't seem to be dissuading the company from trying. The company's JetStream and Flyer tablets weren't very successful, but we know that the company is going to try again with an Android tablet that looks like an iMac, and could be the first out of the gate running a Tegra 4. It looks like HTC could also be planning to get into the Windows tablet space with an RT tablet in 2013...

If htc would make them cheaper.. the HTC flyer and jetstream WAY over priced and sell for almost nothing now. Make a 10in RT wp8 table for 199-300 and It will make some cash.. make it like the surface and .. well...

Windows RT for $199 is possible. Windows 8, no way

If Intel/AMD could make low priced x86 or x64 based soc then why not?

Because a $199 Windows 8 tablet would kill the market for RT, and Microsoft wouldn't allow that.

I do indeed hope that Windows RT will be enabled to be put on a 7 inch tablet. Folks as you know the Windows R t OS arms cpu tablets only run Apps that are designed for touch screens that are in it's software's store. The Ipad's and the Android tablets do the same
exact thing they only run touch screen enabled apps in their store. it will take time for developers to write a lot of Apps for the Windows RT ARMS tablets. Microsoft has
committed itself to support it's "Surface RT OS" Tablets for 4 years. that's Plenty of time for the Windows RT OS tablets to get a huge Portfolio of Apps that can be used on Windows RT OS tablets madfe by microsoft and it's OEM partners.
