HTC looked into Moto X-like customization, but scrapped the plans

You can plan all you want, but if you don't execute, it doesn't really matter. It seems that HTC had looked into setting up its own customization site, much like the Moto X Moto Maker site. The planning happened last year, but obviously nothing ever came of the planning and the customization idea was ultimately scrapped...

i think Phone manufacturers reached a point where they cannot move further in specs dept, like
current quad core & huge ppi screens.
Now, looking at different options like colors & looks of phone.
gr8, can't wait, what kind of new things come in near future

It's more marketing than user demand anyway, even if I'd buy the Moto X I wouldn't spend too much time customizing it's looks (white's okay), and I seriously doubt ppl. will spend hours on the internet finding the right combo when it's actually a lot better to walk into a story and have physical contact with it before deciding.
