HTC was one of the four manufacturers mentioned yesterday to be the first in line with Windows Phone 8 devices, and the company confirmed it is dedicated to Microsoft's mobile OS in a separate press release:

HTC announces support for windows phone 8
New platform announcement builds on ten plus year partnership

Taipei, Taiwan — 20 June 2012 — HTC, a global leader in mobile design and innovation, today pledged its ongoing support of Microsoft by backing the new Windows Phone 8 platform. Building on the two companies’ long mobile partnership dating back to 2000 and including more than 40 million phones sold, HTC will be bringing new Windows Phone 8 smartphones to market later this year.

HTC is committed to Windows Phone more than ever and we are excited to be bringing new Windows Phone 8-enabled smartphones to customers later this year,” said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC Corporation.  “With the introduction of Windows Phone in 2010, Microsoft initiated a new powerful mobile ecosystem with a consumer experience that was both unique and user friendly.

We have seen great momentum for Windows Phone since its launch in 2010, with 100,000 apps now in the Marketplace”, said Terry Myerson, Corporate Vice President of Windows Phone at Microsoft. “HTC is one of our closest partners and we share a common goal in driving people-centric innovation, which makes it easy to work together. We can’t wait to see how HTC brings Windows Phone 8 to its product portfolio
The company was a key player in the rise of smartphone popularity with its WinMo handsets, and is already making stellar Windows Phone handsets like the HTC Titan II with its record 16MP camera, so we are expecting heated competition between the Taiwanese, Nokia and Samsung this fall with the first crop of Windows Phone 8 devices, which can only be beneficial for us consumers.

HTC claim to fame came with the Windows phones they had from the 2000 and on. Windows phones then were the ultimate in smartphones. Black Berry, Palm Treo, & Windows were the beasts of the smartphone then. I remembered the HTC phones were the best of the bunch during that time.

I had the Apache & Wizard for work. Man were those phones BRICKS. I also had the Touch, & Touch Diamond as personal phones.

HTC always made good phones, especially Windows Mobile phones.

Actually, HTC makes badass products that are always high quality / well built and their Andoid skin, Sense UI, is regarded as the best overlay by most consumers / reviewers.

+1 to HTC. I am willing to listen to all WP 8 manufacturers. And since I may just be dumb enough to pay full price, off contract to get what I want, trust me, HTC WANTS me listening to them....

Don't have any doubt about their committment. I'm sure they'll fully support Windows Phone.

well people are saying that pureview and windows phone are going to be the best package but thats not the case actually a pureview phone will be chubby. If they make it slimmer then they will have to reduce the number of pixel like eg from 41 to 25mp. But the lens is still going to make the phone a little chubby.

probably HTC will make the first windows phone 8 (as they did in titan and radar a year ago) but probably the best windows phone 8 will be coming from nokia for sure .....im gonna wait for it .....
