HTC intends to increase its U.S. sales by 50% this year, 20% globally

HTC is looking to increase its sales on the U.S. market by “at least 50 percent” this year, according to Jason Mackenzie, vice president for HTC America. It seems the company hopes to achieve this goal also thanks to its upcoming Android-powered handsets, the T-Mobile myTouch 3G and the HTC Hero. The official doesn’t believe that competition from hits like the iPhone 3GS (and possibly the Pre), along with the global recession will stand in the company’s way to achieving the results, especially given the strong interest in smartphones. In addition, Peter Chou (pictured), HTC CEO, seems to have planned a 20% increase in global sales.

This is exciting... yay for market competition. Let's see what innovative things HTC comes up with next. Maybe a newer concept that touchfo to wash out Samsung/s TouchWIZ for WinMo, something cool. I am eligible for upgrade, but nothing seems to spark my interest to swap out my Vogue.
