HTC inforgraphic shows how smartphones evolved

0. phoneArena 26 Oct 2012, 17:06 posted on

Taiwan based HTC has come up with a great inforgraphio that shows how smartphones evolved and the company doesn't mind taking a few shots at Apple including a reference to the chicken-egg debate over the LG Prada, and the recent problems with Apple Maps...

There's a disclaimer at the bottom of the original saying that all is true save one fact. Must be Eve's wireless (1922). Say, wasn't that two years after Steve Jobs' great grandfather sketched the original iPhone design?

This proves that Apple's claiming of their new technologies created b them are not new. Touch screen have came a long way. and yes the old HTC is like the Palm Pilot. No one back than was suing others any of the futures until the Apple came alone.

Fun facts there.
Just from where they have come in the past 7 years is AMAZING. I remember back when I had the Samsung SPH-A920 which was a great phone back in 2005. Although it had an internal memory of 25mb, It had some great features. Like the dual speakers on the outside and the actual buttons on the outside of the flip phone. Along with a small color screen to display your playlist for music so you could toggle through your songs. I could pick my top 7 songs at the time lol, and load them on the micro sd which i think was like a 32mb card or something. And just toss the phone on the ping pong table at work during lunch or break and that little thing actually bumped pretty well. It had a good sound quality and got pretty loud considering the year and all. It gave todays phones a run for their money as for playing music out loud. Albeit we have various other devices for that nowadays, and the reason today's phones don't have as much bang for their buck in playing aloud is for saving space and weight. Along with form factor.. For those of you who aren't familiar with the model I'm speaking about up there, here is an internal linkhttp://www.phonearena.com/phones/Samsung-SPH-A920_id1278 .

Talking about phones with stereo speakers, my friend once had a lg gm 200, quite similar to the gm 205 which phonearena reviewed (http://www.phonearena.com/reviews/LG-GM205-Review_id2380 )
. It was the best sounding mobile speakers I have listened to, quality was much better compared to the 5800 which i had back then.

I had a nokia 3310 and my favorite past times are playing space impact, snake, bantumi and pairs. Also, I love creating tunes in composer. And finally, sending a picture message to birthday celebrants. Oh, how i miss the old days. :(

Odd they'd say the ip5's screen is almost the size of a OneX. Is that the non-fact? 4" diagonal vs 4.7 diagonal is not "almost as big"

I also didn't quite get the message when they said "The iPhone 5 premiers touting a screen size almost as big as the HTC One X".

What was the false statement?

In my opinion picture #5 is the false one, but only the T3.com part...

The T3 web site started off as a running advertisement for the magazine, but that has changed quite radically over time.

Due to its links with the T3 brand and close ties with the industry it covers, the T3 web site frequently breaks news stories before any other outlets. It relaunched in December 2007 as t3.com

Not in 2005 as is stated above.

actually, no.
T3.com launched in early to mid 2005, right after the launch of its parent company Future Publishings in January 2005 with a pending copyright, the copyright was issues in 2006.

wow, its been a long time. The HTC PW10B was actually my first smartphone (Its the one in the picture on page 3 (HTC builds the first MS smartphone). It actually worked pretty good, besides the fact that it kept randomly erasing system files causing the phone to go into constant loop, good 'ol hard resets.
People didnt really need smartphones back then, to tell you the truth, people dont really need smartphones now, make a motorazr flip phone with a 3.5" tft, web browsing, facebook and angry birds and that is all people will need, oh wait, we have something like that, its called the iPhone LOL.
