I don't know if this was intentional, but this is the second time HTC announced something right after Apple. The first time was with the EVO 4G

I agree E.N....I think H.T.C will announce there Windows phone plans and Announce their next big Andriod device for Sprint Verizon and at&t maybe a T mobile brand as well. With L.G bout to launch a quad core phone I see HTC bringn out one of their own to compete with tha Iphone 5 this fall cause they will be stupid not to come out with a device around the time its released.

looking at the font that HTC chose on the invitation it will be strictly WP centric. usually if they make a general announce ment or a cross platform announcement they use their standard font you see in their marketing.

So what ?

Don't get your fanboy panties tied in a knot. I just thought it was interesting trend and ambitious move. So ambitious that it might bite them.

Fanboy of what ?

Just seems like you're getting a little defensive is all. You tend to be with everything Android.

You see, I don't like Apple, but that doesn't mean that I'm fanboy of Android or WP or any other OS or brand, I just don't liek Apple. :)

So you're just a hater? Thanks for clarification, it all makes sense now

20. PhoneArenaUser posted on 05 Sep 2012, 10:03

"So you're just a hater?"

Why JUST a hater? I have my own opinion about Apple as a company so, it is not JUST a hate for no reasons, it is my opinion and my principles.

5" phablet announcement.

5. N.Reynolds posted on 04 Sep 2012, 14:06 1

I hope so! I think this is what it will be considering my Verizon rep didn't give me much info at all except when I brought up a November/December release a few weeks ago he said it'd be much sooner.

A competitor to the Note II on VZW would be gr8! Especially if it exceeds the Sammy Note II's equipment specification.

8. RomeoJDR posted on 04 Sep 2012, 15:48

Agreed a phablet option in the same league as the Note II would be great on Verizon. Although I really don't see this happening anytime soon with LG's Vu just coming to VZW, which is unfortunate since the Vu relative to the Note is comparable to 'A' league vs the Majors in baseball and charging the same to attend the game.

i wish that OEMs stop with this exclusivity crap. let the carriers differentiate themselves with plans and customer service. not over exclusive phones. Verizion has AWESOME SPEED AND GREAT VOICE. but they are very high, not unlimited, and patchy in my area.

OEMs should continue what they do with flagships as of late. create sick hard ware in different sizes and internals and let carriers shop them out. and release an unlocked variant of each model so if its not on a users carrier they can purchase it separately and then activate

Problem is that CDMA carriers have too much control over the manufacturers other than Apple. GSM carriers have to allow any GSM phone compatable on their network according to the GSM association, regardless if its carrier approved or not. Apple is the exception because their are no other manufacturer options for them to utilize to appease the iOS fanatics. GSM carriers will always choose phones they have to fork out less to subsidize or get an exclusive deal on a perceived killer phone to entice new customers.

very true on all points. its possible through CDMA carriers because Metro PCS and ting does it all day, Sprint and Verizion are just profit driven.

htc has every thing from great desing and build qulatity to awesome UI, only if they could get the performance thing down then apple would be suing htc for making insane profits
