HTC Zeta: Quad-core 2.5GHz CPU superphone rocking Ice Cream Sandwich

0. phoneArena 15 Nov 2011, 17:31 posted on

Here's a first glimpse of the HTC Zeta. The “almost too good to be true” specs include 2.5GHz quad-core next-gen Snapdragon CPUs and 1GB of RAM powering a 4.5 inch 720p HD display. The phone is also reported to come with a rear-facing camera, a 1.3MP front-facing camera, and of course Beats Audio. But is it real?...

I like the design of this phone, would be nice if it was a little thinner though.

I agree. If other manufacturers can produce thin phones, why does HTC continue to crank out ones that are so chunky? I'm not asking for Moto thin, but come on. That thing still looks .5 or better. That's thicker than my Incredible. (I know, it's got 4G, but still...)

The front looks good, but the back looks ugly imo. There's just too much going on, it needs to be more simplistic. Also, 2.5 ghz quad core sounds a little out there given the fact there's only 1 GB of RAM. And we somehow jump ahead when it comes to processors and GPUs but somehow the cameras stay the same? Idk, there's too much in this rumor that makes it sound not that legit. Perhaps some of the specs are true but I can't buy all of it.

I agree. 2gigs of RAM would be a better choice for this hardware configuration. GS3 still sounded better (even though it was prolly all BS).

i dont know if the camera is 'staying the same' just b/c there isnt a bump in megapixels does not mean there arent improvements. the sensor looks larger to me, which could mean a vast improvement in image quality.

Good design. I don't think I'll mind the thickness.

maybe it's just me but it seems more like a tablet n less like a phone. i gotta give it to them for trying out something new with the design, even though it's not my favorite.

Hmmm Seems HTC isn't playing anymore... For some reason, I still think the Galaxy Nexus would out perform it, over all. IMO

Evo 4g to Evo 3d, so it should naturally be the "Evo 2(letter with meaning for 2)"

This is not the next high end evo. The next high end evo will be the Evo cybertron lol...if they go with Cwebb's way then the one after the next should be evOptimus Prime lolol

Improvement in design. Looks really nice. Though do not like HTC's usual gray color. Hopefully material build will be good as well.

Whoa mama! I just don't know what phone I should be waiting for now. If these specs are right, this thing is going to be a beast.

the dual cores are supposed to launch Q2 with the Quad cores launching Q3/Q4.. they mentioned next holiday season for the quadcore phone at the earliest. :)

Oh by the way guys, I hope you know that the processor this is running, at 1.5 GHz in a dual core variant, will thoroughly trounce the Tegra 3 with all of it\'s cores going full blast at 1.5 GHz (which is higher than Nvidia will ever clock theirs.)

The GPU is a different story, and we\'ll have to see if it\'s competitive with the next gen PowerVR 6s....

I personally think that this design is a bit implausible, but as long as the specs are real I\'d be okay with the look, after all the feel of this will be amazing.

Q1 2012? Good. Try to beat THAT, Apple. On Q12012 you're still gonna have the sucky sucky stupid stupid iPhone 4S.

the design is unlike the one from HTC. It is more like Sony design. Too be honest, really ugly. It is probably just a fake rendering. who knows.

I don't know why people say there is no software to run on a hardware... I mean why would any1 make a software if it can't be used?
Software makers will make software depending on how much workload the hardware can take.
So in my opinion if there's better hardware, software will be created to utilize it and not vice versa.. That will be just plain Stupid.
