HTC Vigor to be the first Beats phone?

0. phoneArena posted on 12 Aug 2011, 07:04

We've already heard about the HTC Vigor – rumored to be nothing short of best specced device we've seen so far, flaunting a dual-core 1.5GHz chip and a 4.3” screen with resolution of 720 x 1280, but if that wasn't enough…

Don't believe the HYPE... The Thunderbolt got the same amount of hype---supposed to have been the premier LTE phone of the year....not so.....constant reboots, numerous ota's, want stay on LTE network, battery life of 2-3 hours on the little 1400 battery, Gingerbread for June 30 skipped, now Q3-who knows.....Show me first....

its called the first LTE phone EVER. Are you gonna heckle Henry Ford next for what terrible gas mileage the model T got?

shut your face.

12. beatlesfan posted on 12 Aug 2011, 09:16 5 3

He's obviously exaggerating about the 2-3 hour battery life. Never once have I killed my battery in under 4 hours with non-stop LTE usage. Unless maybe you have the brightness all the way up and you are watching a netflix movie for 2 hours, I highly doubt the battery would die in 2 hours. Never had a problem with reboot either, though I do realize that was a problem for some.

Back to topic, this Vigor is going to blow every other phone out of the water (SGSII and Bionic included). Beats audio is just icing on the cake. The bionic is plagued by the ugliest UI I know of and the SGSII will most likely have the knockoff iPhone looking Interface they call touchwiz

if its a 1.5ghz snapdragon dual core, its still lower end than a 1.2ghz Exynos. processor clock speed doesnt mean everything. And unless they pack in a monster battery, that snapdragon will eat it alive at that clock speed. Heres to hoping that its the new unreleased S4 chip, not the current S3 chips that are out.

Beats Audio is nothing but a scam. Another high priced low quality company. Monster Cable makes the "beats audio" headphones, you so know you are getting ripped off.

Agreed!

Beats Audio is on the same level as Skull Headphones. I am extreamly disapointed in my HP laptops Beats Audio System. What a joke!

Get bose. They are high quality.
Got bose audio system in the cadilac car you see as my profile picture. GREAT sound !!!
EDIT.
This car is not mine, but i drive it sometimes as the company car. Great car if you ask me.

Why all the thumbs down ?

20. how2troll101 (unregistered) posted on 12 Aug 2011, 14:25 1 2

Because those are both companies with overpriced products who rely on mediocre quality and heavy marketing. Thumbs up for Denon, AudioTechnica, and Grado.

Don't agree with you My Bose headphones have excellent sound quality.

I worked in the sound industry, installing sounds systems in halls & community centers. My boss had a saying about Bose "No highs, no lows, must be Bose"

I'm just wondering how loud are they going to make this phone...(help me out there) Was the Original (OG) Motorola Droid the loudest ever phone ever released...then after that you can barely hear them....As far as Beats Audio--I don't walk around with headphones are loud enough for the whole block to hear me why making me deaf in the years to come...I just don't get it...What's next for phones Lucas THX.....figure out why these LTE phones can't stay on the network, and fix the battery life should be your priorities.....

yeah Dr. Dre is taking all of you all's money....HP, HTC, headphones----the HP beats audio sounds no different than the cheap Dell mini I have....

Samsung made surround sound speakers,TVs, blu-ray recorders, cameras, memory cards, processors, etc. but on Samsung phones are not great very poor audio, poor camera quality, cheap plastic body, good display, etc. Samsung needed a lot of improvement on the smartphone in order to compete with iPhone spent less money and make more profit.

very poor audio, poor camera quality ???

iSheep...

9. PeterIfromsweden posted on 12 Aug 2011, 08:28 4

I have the wave and it has awesom camera quality. And the audio ?
The best audio ive ever had on a phone is on my wave (and ive had lots of phones, check my profile).
And my wave is made of metall and glass, not plastic. Awesome quality. Dropped my wave 2 from the top of the stairs (onta a wooden floor) and it only got a small scratch.

I own a Droid Charge, aside from the horrible job Sammy did with releasing source codes this phone is awesome; it has great sound quality through the headset, VERY loud speakers(one of the loudest I've heard, louder then my enV Touch which had 2 HUGE speakers), fantastic camera quality, I'll admit the body is plastic and feels a little cheap and yes, the SAmoled+ display is good....

I understand nothing will get through to you since your head is too far up Mr. Jobs ass but I just felt like chiming in.

PS: I got my Charge for $80 on contract.

Beats Headphones do sound very good even in comparison to my Skullcandy FMJs and they have great sound quality and 11mm drivers for some pretty superb bass but Beats products are overly expensive, i wonder if this phone will be equally as expensive. we could be talking $350+ here. that's worrisome because this is shaping up to be a very nice phone even though i probably wouldn't get it because it's HTC and it'll probably use a Qualcomm processor. there's only two phones i would accept after having my Droid 3 and those are the Galaxy S II and the Droid Bionic. now if this Revolution had stock Android like the G2x (can't blame a guy for wishful thinking) then i MIGHT take a look at that even if it has a Qualcomm processor but LG does like to mix it up so it could be by Qualcomm, it could be by Texas Instruments. who knows?

13. DROIDX0430 posted on 12 Aug 2011, 11:14 1 4

narley, actually I would heckle Henry Ford for what Ford is today......just like I would heckle anyone who puts out a product without testing it as the Thunderbolt was delivered...First LTE EVER,, yeah, but it wasn't the First 4G--did you forget about the EVO and start talking about Ford rather than phones--stick to the subject....

16. gallitoking posted on 12 Aug 2011, 12:22 1

I will pass. great specs but with beats.. hmmm no thank you...

23. ltr (unregistered) posted on 12 Aug 2011, 17:39

I sometimes use Bose headphones for my Droidx. Beats is too expensive.

Samsung has pretty good sound. I had a Samsung phone that came with DNSe sound engine. Great sound.

DroidX0430, I've owned a Thunderbolt on one of my lines since April & never experienced any of the battery, re-boot, or LTE network problems you described above. I have read the reports about individuals who have experienced them though. But, to them I say, "That's what a manufacture's warranty is for!" All manufactures have defective products at times, they should've just exchanged their, "Thunderbolt," for a properly working one. I'm usually able to watch three movies using, "Netflix," before it drains my battery so, I feel the battery-life is pretty good.

19. kemps34 (unregistered) posted on 12 Aug 2011, 14:03

I have had my thunderbolt since launch day. I can last from 8am-9pm on a single battery charge. I don't use advanced task killer because it drains your battery with 2.2 froyo. i use juiced defender and have it set on balanced. I love my thunderbolt and have had zero issues with it. By far best phone for performance.
Ps- screen isn't so great, wish it was oled
