HTC Trophy appears on a Vodafone Germany website
Share:
The rumors around the HTC Trophy are that it is a thin QWERTY candybar with Windows Phone 7 for an operating system. At first it was supposed to run WinMo, but HTC shelved the plans until WP7 hits the market. Other floated specs include a 3" capacitive touschscreen, 600MHz CPU, 5MP camera, and 512MB RAM/256MB ROM. Add under the screen a physical QWERTY, and the handset could possibly be enormous. It is an interesting form factor, of which there aren't many on the market, so we are waiting for some more concrete info to leak out.

I call bunk this device not meet Microsoft's minimum specs for a wp7 device...biggest thing? 1ghz processor is required.

I was going to mention the same exact thing here. No 1 ghz processor, and also didn't ms mention a minimum of 3.5 inch for the screen? I could be wrong about this. I also seem to remember something about hardware buttons. I don't hunk this'll be a wp7 device unless these stats are flat out wrong.

Yes, a 3.5" screen was a requirement if the device is going to be launched at the same time/around WP7 debut. It was mentioned that HVGA devices would be supported but not at launch. So it's really intriguing not to know HTC Trophy true specifications yet. I hope HTC will mention something on Sept. 15th. :)

I think it was a 3.2 inch screen, and since this phone was originally announced a year ago, I think they've had plenty of time to make it fit with wp7 requirements.
