HTC is awarding themselves the highest rank when it comes to camera phone quality. This is according to the company's own subjective research...

with the nokia pureview on the way, those point and shoot don't stand a chance.

Anybody who gives a thumbs down to that is an idiot. You can't argue facts.

Meanwhile at the hall of Justice: Congrats on the success and love your're receiving for the HTC One line and the latest praise for its camera. That being said, you know those "reasonable" Android fees you pay us, well we think maybe you should make some love happen for our Windows phone...ahem....pronto. What's that? They're not selling well on the whole and you're actually losing money? Two words that will fix that. Android. Fees.

I Totally agree i have an HTC amaze 4g which has a excellent 8mega pixel camera and its just 8mega pixel i wonder how images will look like with 16mega pixel
15. simplyj (Posts: 404; Member since: 23 Dec 2009)
Megapixels have no effect on camera quality.
7. jackhammeR (Posts: 1548; Member since: 17 Oct 2011)
the answer is simple. Your amaze makes better pictures than one x.
has the best camera htc ever made. tha's sad because htc was so proud of htc one family.
it turned out that S III beats one x in photo quality and htc has repeated mistakes from the past. rubbish optimalization and cheap optics. fabulous, fairy tale image sense or whatever software won't make great camera.
And taking into consideration that it has 16 mpx it doesn't produce so much better pictures than e.g. Lumia 900 let alone S III.

And what shots have u seen from the s3 to make that statement or should we all assume ur talking out ur ass like everyone else on this site does.. HTC usually has the top cameras in a phone the rezound currently has the best camera on vzw and onex on Att. So don't pay this guy no mind
13. Chronos (Posts: 258; Member since: 25 Feb 2012)
Samsung Galaxy S III vs HTC One X. Take a look at the camera comparison in that article before you "talk out of your ass like everyone else on this site does."
14. KParks23 (Posts: 462; Member since: 13 Oct 2010)
I'm not going to base my opinion on what this site has to say in There reviews. This Site is pro samsung and apple so i dont care what they have to say in There reviews
24. Chronos (Posts: 258; Member since: 25 Feb 2012)
I didn't bring up the article for you to read what Ray S. stated in it.
17. jackhammeR (Posts: 1548; Member since: 17 Oct 2011)
you're silly, you know that?
HTC usually makes top cameras???
How many htc phones have you got so far?
Only old diamond and amaze were really good (in fact, sometimes even impressive) bot mostly htc just doesn't know how to build a decent camera module. That's a fact and you cannot argue with facts.
If you don't like neither samsung nor apple why on earth did you post your comment?
I'm not sammy lover. Apple neither. In fact, I don't like them. But both sammy and apple made a progress in terms of camera quality. They learnt something. And what did HTC? Nothing. HTC stopped. Why they don't utilize amaze 4G camera? Don't know. Image chip? ANother useless term. Nobody would bash HTC for camera (well, maybe not nobody because it's a so-called flagship and should be on par with the others) BUT HTC INTRODUCED ONE X AS A BREAKTHROUGH in mobile photography. What for?? To execute it worse than everyone expected?
Image chip. Just a gimmick. You are thoroughly blind if you don't see how moderate pictures one x shoots. And 1080 with 23 fps? Is it a joke?
Burst mode? What for? To have 50 blurry pictures instead of one really good? They use cheap optics and they didn't even optimize their own sense, let alone web browser, and you dare say their camera is good. IT'S NOT. Get over it.
And your argument that verizon or att have this or that phone is (which in your opinion are the best)....meaningless, suffice to say. Don't you see a nonsense in your argument?
"This Site is pro samsung and apple so i dont care what they have to say in There reviews"
So I'm asking you again: why on earth did you come here in the first place?
18. KParks23 (Posts: 462; Member since: 13 Oct 2010)
I came here to read about this article and other articles not the bs 1 sided reviews this site does. and yes in my opinion a htc phone has the best camera on vzw and att.. Just like in ur opinion that the S3 has a better camera than the one x and ur comparing s3 and onex picks from this site.. After never using the phone.
19. jackhammeR (Posts: 1548; Member since: 17 Oct 2011)
and you DO use every phone you are reading about, don't you?
taking into account that we are talking about cameras and pictures which can be uploaded on every possible site in the internet you don't have to use by yourself. Of course that's a better experience but not always possible.
And gazing at SIII and ONE X photos in my opinion and it looks like not only mine, SIII produces better photos.
It's a little bit like n8 and iphone 4.
N8 produces very natural neither over nor under saturated colors when iphone has a tendency to bump them up.
I really wouldn't call this article biased. Ray S. is an iphone lover and he's not a sammydog definitely. Ask anybody on this site. Does he like htc? Don't know. Conslusion is one. He prefers S III to ONE X and I think he gave us pretty decent arguments why (overall performance, great web browser, smoothness, battery and in my opinion better camera and for sure better 1080p).
23. KParks23 (Posts: 462; Member since: 13 Oct 2010)
No i don't use every phone I'm reading about but I've used every 1 I'm talking about and taken plenty of pics with them except the s3..

"HTC usually has the top cameras"
Dude, you should re-check your medicines. Also look around you more closely, as you are not in this world. HTC is just one of those Asian "cheapmakers" who thinks that putting number 16 in a camera, makes it good. More pixels doesn't add quality like that. HTC is using cheap optics and other parts making it just average device.
2 years old Nokia N8 has 12Mpx and it STILL beats all competitors in market easily. 41 Mpx Pureview is by far the best camera in any phone. It even beats most digitalcameras. I feel sad with all these asian loosers trying to copy others. They should start spending more in R&D.
8. bubbadoes (Posts: 363; Member since: 03 May 2012)
And Honda makes the best Japenese cars,,(according to Honda) followed by Ford saying that they have the best pickup trucks in the industry (according to Ford)...daahhhhh!. Of course HTC would say this..They need to work on battery life in a smartphone vice a camera.
9. bubbadoes (Posts: 363; Member since: 03 May 2012)
Let cameras be cameras and smartphones be smartphones...leave a camera to Nikon and Minolta to figure out...Fix battery life on your phones...HTC!!!!!!!
10. iSometimes (Posts: 47; Member since: 16 Feb 2011)
The title says "best camera of any WINDOWS PHONE". Nokia Pureview is expected to run Symbian. And obviously the Titan II has the best, it has a 16 MP camera, all the others have 5 or 8. It better be the best -_-
12. Commentator (Posts: 2494; Member since: 16 Aug 2011)
Pureview is expected to be on some of Nokia's Windows 8 Phones, not just Symbian.

Also, as people have been saying for years, megapixel count is FAR from what determines the best camera.
16. jackhammeR (Posts: 1548; Member since: 17 Oct 2011)
unless you know how to utilize it. Obviously Nokia knows (N8 and now 808 are evidences) and HTC doesn't know (desire, sensation and new one x which is pretty decent for a cameraphone but definitely not the best around)
25. jackhammeR (Posts: 1548; Member since: 17 Oct 2011)
more doesn't mean better (not i htc case) :)

My wife is a HUGE photo-enthusiast, and loves her camera on the Titan 1. She uses it all the time, and the shutter speed, indoor reproductions, and image reproductions are fantastic. (Her words and review, not mine. I couldn't get a picture of my dog with his ears up correctly if I used popsicle sticks to prop them up.) Everything I have read and heard say that the T2 improved on so many of the problems of the first Titan (call quality, some freezing, and some loading problems, which have shown up on my Wifes) and lost none of the advantages. Most reviews have the T2 dusting the 900 in camera quality.
I am just glad HTC is bragging on their WP Flagship a little. I know the One series is more important, but some WP support is nice....
21. jackhammeR (Posts: 1548; Member since: 17 Oct 2011)
just like I said, HTC has few phones with good cameras (touch, mytouch 4g and let it be titan...why not, not bad pictures he makes).
The problem is that HTC bumped mpx twice and results are not so impressive. Great, bigger picture, smaller chances to see what's wrong with it but it's not a proper way.
Samsung for example. They could easily put more than "just" 8 mpx in S III but what for if current 8 mpx is enough. Even my old N82 makes fabulous photos which look great on tv or computer.
Only Sony keep trying to catch up Nokia which is right now impossible. And Nokia has done 808 for one simple reason. To show everyone they are still in the game and when it comes to experience, knowledge and technology (at least, in photo department) there is no match for them. At the same time they show Microsoft they are the best choice to work with.
Every manufacturer must have at least one area to be unbeatable. Nokia has photography. Samsung cpu and obviously final execution and overal performance, LG has superb screens and HTC...they've been strolling a little bit in android realm recently. "Amazing" (caugh! caugh!) dre beats, the same design (which is not a bad thing), "revolutionary" image chip and so on and so forth. The truth is that they are alwas behind samsung. And if LG improves their customer service and updates speed (I said, IF) they will be even behind them.
22. jackhammeR (Posts: 1548; Member since: 17 Oct 2011)
another problem is that htc is big-headed.
What makes them so sure that titan II is so great. Maybe they should wrote: the best cameraphone overall.
This unit is not so great like they would it to be so why making such a stupid statement which will be after them from now on?
28. iSometimes (Posts: 47; Member since: 16 Feb 2011)
Well, megapixel count is an indication of how good the camera can be. The actual quality depends on the manufacturer. But, I have seen HTC do a decent job in camera's, so I expect there 16 MP camera to be better than other manufacturer's 8 MP. Maybe not double the quality, but somewhat better. And I didn't know the PureView may be a windows phone. Thanks for the article.
