maybe its like the Droid 2 global CDMA/GSM?

the front facing camera tells me is a lie 5MP would be a little too much for a front facing camera... think it may consume a lot of data for video calling, but i guess it can be reduced for such features .... dunno.... time will tell

actually the newer processing arguments added on dual core processor make it more battery efficient that regular core processors, why? here is a simple example

-one truck needs an X amount of fuel to carry an X amount of merchandise, now when in overload caring 2x the truck consumes more fuel and become less efficient.

-now if you have another truck you can split the load and save fuel by simply having both carrying on a regular load.

how does this apply to a processor?

the more hot a processor gets the more power it consumes the more battery it drains.

now by spiting the processor capability you can make sure that one will back the other up on critical moments keeping them both cool and overall saving power. so its gonna depends more on how the system uses this processing power to its advantage

If that's the case, Android is not going to help the processors attain the battery saving power it should be, considering how power inefficient that platform is in general, and because the manufacturers just slap the two together and sell it as is.

I could see how dual core may help battery life on Symbian, since Nokia actually takes the time to code it in an efficient way, as evidenced by the fact that it clearly doesn't need a 1GHz processor to be just as fast as a Galaxy S moving through the UI.

It would be nice to see Symbian running on a dual core phone.

Now for this specific kind of possessor the OS itself needs to be arranged in order to even operate (its a rumor I've heard and a possible reason the stores where not plagued by dual core phones by now) now according to some other stuff I've heard 2.3 has been optimized for better processing performance and more power deficient so will see how things do there (personally if i don't see i wont believe)

it would be nice to see Symbian be relevant...let alone running on a dual core phone. dual core should be the least of their goals at this point.

yeah now if only they could make it user friendly and pretty, not to mention find a way to shut up Apple and their lawsuits symbian (and nokia) might have a shot over here. Fact is, and whether you want to hear/accept it or not, symbian isn't a concern or even a big enough slice of the pie to matter in the US market.

Yeah, the highest current front-facing camera is a 1.3 MP, so why would they jump to 5 without at least hitting 2 and 3.2 before then? It just seems too much of a stretch...especially since there's no reason to have the front-facing cam THAT close in resolution to that of the back.

In theory yes its possible but the video calling capabilities will be less efficient because the video obtained from 5MP will be really big and suck the life of any data plan, or make the conversation choppy because of the bandwidth, but if it where the original 4G @ 100mbps then 5MP will be super smooth
