HTC Scorpion set to sting with 1.5 GHz processor?

Besides a zippy processor, the Scorpion is supposed to be flavored by Android 2.2 (Froyo) and offers WiMax which tells us that this beast is Sprint bound...

Every time you turn around new technology is old, can't ever stay on top. We are all looking for 1Ghz Snapdragon, and now this 1.5Ghz.

What does 1.5Ghz do for a cell phone besides making some people wet their pants? With the screen size, there is but so much more that can be done for a cell phone. They need to stop trying to make them portable PC's and go back to the basics - phone first everything else after. I don't even think that you need the 1 Ghz.

If you've owned any phone (except maybe the HD2) and then get a Nexus, you'll see why it might not be necessary, but it sure is fun :)

I want everything else first, and phone last. I want my phone to do internet, stream media, take pictures & video, navigation, augmented reality, play music, book reader, games/apps, txt, and then only as a last resort do I want it to function as a phone. I want access at all times to everything I enjoy and I certainly don't want phone calls...

then get an i-phone. ATT will guarantee that actually receiving phone calls and keeping them connected is their lowest priority.

1ghz is neccessary, i have the htc hero for sprint and i witness some lag, 1ghz will handle multi tasking, and apps and games that use a lot of resources

I agree 1ghz is necessary, you wouldn't want to be using a 600mhz phone in the next few years, trust me, just like how big memory they give a phone these days, we'd say we wouldn't need an 8gb space to store stuff, but now it's going all the way to 16gb and 32gb, people demand more and more in the next few years

just because u dont see the need now, doesnt mean there wont be. short-sited is the desease of the masses, while long term vision is the cure of the few. Im old enough to remember wondering how i was gonna fill my first hard drive. It was sooo big. It was 40mb!! u can get over a TB now. Just be happy we are all still progressing. Its the day when something newer-faster- smaller, doesnt come out that u have to worry.

If Sprint gets this plus the Supersonic they'll be in a pretty good position. They just need to roll Wimax nationwide. Hopefully the WalMart deal comes through

I agree and hope for the best, but for how long will their early start give an advantage before the LTE bandwagon steamrolls WiMax? I hope there is an upgrade available in the future for WiMax to keep it competetive.
