Seems like AT&T's version of Kin phones. How did that work for Verizon?

Dedicated facebook buttons are pointless imo,,, Android makes accessing applications fast and easy via the home screen. What more will that button do that a home screen icon cant? If anything, wouldn't it make more sense (no pun intended) to just make a programmable shortcut key like whats found on the desire z/g2 which can be made into a shortcut for any app?
