HTC Roadmap 2007

Earlier we got information about the hybrid between PPC and UMPC – the Athena, and the Vox design for smartphones, as well as CDMA phones, the Taiwanese manufacturer is preparing, for Verizon Wireless. Here are a few other phones, operating in GSM networks:

HTC Kaiser is an update to the TyTN (Cingular 8525) and its most significant change is the added GPS navigation: this turns it into Windows Mobile Pocket PC Phone with 400MHz Samsung processor, operating in quad-band GSM and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA networks, featuring Bluetooth, WiFi and GPS.

HTC Elf is budget PocketPC with stylish design. It would not offer anything special when it comes to specifications, and will be GSM without support for 3G, featuring Bluetooth but not WiFi. Its display will be common 2.8” QVGA unit, and the phone will run on 200MHz processor. Elf's main features are the slim and stylish design, touchpad for navigation (for one-hand usage) and low price.

The HTC Panda will be cheap PPC as well, but will have bigger (3.5 to 3.7 inches) display and 400 MHz processor. It will have full wireless set, except for 3G.

HTC Wings - a Smartphone which is based on the idea of the Vox has both standard numeric keypad on the front, and side-sliding QWERTY one. The Wings will probably feature world GSM and 3G (UMTS/HSDPA) frequencies, as well as powerful processor, GPS and WiFi.
